Well, that little plunge salvaged my VIX call position. I had removed the short side of a vertical spread this morning, and the remaining long side was drifting the wrong way - until I got a 50% bump and sold near the low of the downdraft. I'm back in the long side again back where it was before the plunge.

I've been on the wrong side of these dabacles enough times that I don't feel guilty for this win.

put in a market order buy on that nip bounce at 59 n got a 65 fill

 

funny if we see something similar before close today.
