Not a big deal at all. You may notice it is not about "liking" his posts, I think he has some quality content. I am simply calling bullshit in a case of bullshit.
I agree here. This thread is best when everyone shares and leaves the ego at the door. Personal insight mixed in with some good hearted fun. I start to ignore the entire thread as a whole when people come in aggressively spouting where they want the market to go. I think people get a lot more forgiveness in here when they admit that they are guessing just like everyone else. It's OKAY to be wrong in here, after all, the only person who truly cares about my PnL is ME.
+1 I don't even mind the nonsense posted, as I probably post 90% of it ;-) But, it would be nice if people would post their actual entry and exit price for a trade. If they scale, it would be nice to just say the average. Just my opinion, but the only reason one wouldn't do this is because it opens one up to being publicly identified as being wrong. When someone says "I'm long" it leaves all sorts of ways they can be still "right" and totally be in a losing situation. At least half the battle in trading is actually taking the trade, at a good price, and taking the exit, at a good price. Vagueness like "I'm long" and "I'm out" can make an otherwise average trade appear to be awesome, or a loser a winner. Also, I'm pretty sure this happens-- say someone decides to short; well, he takes the short, and then the market moves against him 2 points. Instead of posting the short, he waits for the market to get back to his entry price and then go in his favor. Only when he's sure it's going to be at least a breakeven or winner does he post the trade. This way, if it's a loser, it never gets posted. I know it's possible because my human ego has driven me to do this before. It's embarrassing to take a trade and never really be in profit. Who wants to post that? But the thing is, if we are not honest (and I'm not accusing anyone in particular, by the way) with others about our trade performance in a public journal, are we really being honest with ourselves? How can one post a lie, or let his ego cause him to be so vague so that he can save face, and expect to be successful? I don't mean in trading necessarily, I just mean in life. It's called integrity. Very few people have it. Lord knows I fail constantly, but I keep trying. I would encourage anyone reading this whose ego has a problem letting them post their actual trades, or who stretches the entry and exit price by even a tick, to challenge themselves, and next week, post the honest, hard, painful truth when it will make you look bad. It's quite liberating to openly admit error when it's made.
Should people follow your rules (however right their are) or stop/never post? What if some doesn't feel comfortable for whatever reason. Sharing of opinions or sentiments (all taken with a grain of salt or two) is just as valuable as postings of exact entries. If someone is underwater -what's the point of "kicking" them when they are down at the moment? If they recover tomorrow - would that be a good trade? Maybe it's their style or a hangup, why trying to change them - just draw your own conclusions and move on. That's my 2c since I'm just a lurker - carry on
Me thinkst the bartender has been sampling too much of the inventory. Exactly which post contains that trade?
Nobody was being kicked when down. No one was being ridiculed for being wrong. You really need to read and pay attention before you jump into a thread with your assumptions. The poster was called out on his egoist, fluffed up bs...and that is it. Some get called out, some get ignored. Satch actually contributes some good observations. Read the posts...this was a pretty polite series of events. Ignore is great, but this was not a case for ignore. That's my 2 cents.
1268.50 in over-night and sinking. Almost poetic. who shorted 77.5 and posted it live? we are 10 pts down from the top. who is still short? Yeah I guess just me. who posted this morning that they were short and that 1262 was the line to beat? That 1262 was the line that had to prove. That they were worried about 1262. who posted the 3 Higher Lows off 1262? Sure at the morning lows if I banked it all that was already the daily nut. But I didn't bank it all, what do you care. What do you care that I already know that I missed the buy at the bottom. Well I sure as hell didn't miss the sell from the top. i am done here. There is ZERO camaraderie here - no traders supporting traders - imagine if people actually supported each other? Pretty disappointing, but hey it's been like that since 2003, why would I expect more?
