Barely did better than the SPX... its pathetic considering the amount of screen time I put in during the year. Thinking of dumping my entire account in SPY and calling it quits, its just not worth it anymore.
The spectacle has come and gone and it seems the bulls are back. Nice job Harvard boys. Japan markets were closed yesterday and today, and should gap up big on the open tomorrow night when the cliff deal finally gets priced in, China equities rising again as I write. I had a rough first six months day trading ES and some US, the last several months have been steady profitable regardless of the instrument. I think I found the problem and solved it (mindset adjustment). Almost at breakeven and hope to find overall profitability in early 2013. Long term investment accounts had an 18% rate of return and are currently positioned long from the November 1375 area. Wishing everyone all the best in 2013!
By the way, what's the other "go to" forum site for ES for time when ET is down? It would be nice to be able to post when a MAJOR EVENT SUCH AS A FISCAL CLIFF IS BEING SOLVED! rant over
Agree with Less...what happened to updating over weekends? cd I was up %37 on the year in my futures trading account mostly trading the ES cash and options. That includes loss from CL options. To be honest it was a pretty calm year with only a couple of big downs to deal with. The big ups like the past 2 trading days are always easier to roll out of. I was caught with a 27 cash short overnight that I closed at 46...ugh. At least I did close it early and didn't hang on waiting for market to fall. I keep telling myself not to hold overnite!
gaps... whats the theory behind trading them.. do you follow? did anyone get caught short over night?
