Usually I am in advanced stages of REM sleep between 3 and 4... Yes probably caffeinated Europeans rolling the dice. I am usually at my gambling station around 5 am as I have noticed some very nice swings then... haven't traded then yet though.
There are many benefits to trading the vampire hours. 5:00 am seems to be an ok start. Most times the Es bounces off its Globex low between 5:30 and 6:30am.
Whatever THAT was is reason to quit trading ES.... capable of doing anything, breaking any price levels on a whim. 3 fast stop outs short.. 786, 788, 791 taken in one glorious orgasm.
Its called controlled chaos! Did you miss the ISM report? It came in better than expected. This market is looking to go up on very little. Itâs a new quarter and its the first of the month, funds are buying. The volume should have invited you to go long. If you looked at the 10:31 bar, the volume spiked up to 21,000 and closed firm. We just drifted higher from there. I learned the hard way that you cant fade a trend day early in the day.
Zodiac... Seems VERY often the intra-trend at 10am carries on till 3pm when there is either a reversal or an acceleration. The ADP job report was quite negative but I have always though news really complicates trading.. Clearly I tend to short more often.. why? After absorbing all the negative news hard to imagine going long!....
I would advise trying to "build positions". That way you are at your lowest level when you lose and at your highest level when you win. This is the only way I can trade the ES.
track! Long time...! Problem is it is hard to "build" with one Brick... I fully understand though.. Thanks..
Well well... like a broken record, possibly soon a broken trader.. The ONLY consolation is I was able to start thinking a bit clearer earlier in the day.. Soon this may be all day of clear thinking... April Fools day to shorts..
I am totally with you on all your points. Though we all have to remember that all these markets are influenced by the news and itâs important to know what the news is before we try to fade a market that is over sold. Today was a fine example of that. But to touch on the subject of the ADP! For me itâs not a real biggy in my book. The best days to trade from the pure technical standpoint is during non-report days and during the Globex session. Just my 2 cents!
