Not everyone is a scalper trying to win 3 points by risking 3 points. There are many daytrading strategies which would incorporate a 50 point stop loss on NQ. You seem to be overreacting.
Tom Houggard (Trader Tom). Better trader than me, and I would venture to say better than all traders on this forum. I think for U.S. indices he trades mostly Dow though, not S&P 500 or Nasdaq. He posts his trade entries in real-time, in public, for free. Thank me later.
I did that last year with one NQ, though I usually risked less than 50 points, more like 30 to 40 points. So I was risking up to $800 per trade. But I will admit I would never do that now, since the value of the index is so much larger. Anyways, I now trade YM only since my strategy works better there.
