lets just leave this thread uncluttered and see if I get any advice from actual professional traders.
can you be taught to hit a 99 mph fast ball? there is no weak money to steal and you have mega computers with unlimited money in the market now. i hope someone comes on here and tell you what you want to hear but i can't see it to be as simple as learning to cook a meal. ammo beat me to the punch. also bullets and human specialist were an edge. we all remember complaining about them but i miss them now.
On the 99mph fastball, you're talking about a hand eye coordination athletic skills. apples and oranges bud. yes, i understand the market is getting mega efficient. but to my knowledge, the guys on the title of this thread are not HFT rocket scientists running complex algos using exchange located servers. They are just prop guys that are grinding it out and making very good money doing it. So just interested in their thoughts or comments.
Lol people can obviously be taught to hit a 99 mph fastball.... Do people want to spend the time and effort to learn how to actually do it? No. Chikout, you lose because you are lazy and unwilling to work for your goal. No one is just going to lay a winning strategy in your lap. Even if they did you wouldn't be able to trade it. Get to work, anyone can do it if you put in the time and effort.
I agree with your thread and that's why I met with Don Bright face to face a couple of years ago in Vegas. I was successful in sales because while I was good I had great mentoring. That doesn't exist in trading, except for a very select few. The rest of us, if we are doing well grind it out the rest blow up rinse repeat until we have nothing to re-fund the accnt. When Don basically told me I had to risk 30k and I read some of the posts where very few made it after risking 30k I said no thanks. I would have risked 50k, and I have it, if I had an inclination that even 25% of his folks made it. Not even that. So then how good is his mentoring for someone that hasn't made it? Why don't you pm those guys lescor was nice enough a few years ago to give me a quick reply and politely decline which I expected.
yes, im under no delusion that someone is going to mentor or offer up specific strategies. all im asking for is just REAL TALK. like, is what is offered in popular technical analysis books of any value? if not, then how does someone even begin to know what to look for? could they teach what they do to their friend or brother or sister in a way that can be duplicated? would that ruin their edge? should trading be mysterious like some gurus make it? how big is the averge edge? stuff like that. just some guidance really. im just tired of nonsense.
i don't think anybody can be taught to hit that 99 mph ball. i do think it takes a lot of practice, coaching helps, and an intangible thing inside you that most people are not born with. i do think advice helps but there is no secret anyone can write down that will magically open someones eyes. this is hard for a reason because if it was easy everybody would sit at home and trade a few hours a day.
