Incumbent congressman? Because there have been incumbents around the country to get tossed by the Tea Party in various levels of state government. That's how grass roots work. Back in 2010, however, there were a number of incumbent senators/congressman removed by the Tea Party. The ones I can remember off the top of my head was Utah's Bennett and Nikki Haley as SC governor.
Oh yeah, Miller beat incumbent senator Murkowski (AK) in the primary until she decided to be a poor loser and run on the independent ticket in the race. If you consider unseating incumbent democrats, the list gets bigger. Remember Scott Brown? Or Rubio's run? Or how about McDaniel about to unseat Cochran? Turns out, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about! You and Covertibility need to start a polling company.
Brat posted these six points. "That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice, "That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society, "That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government, "That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations, "That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense, "That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation." http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2014/06/11/dave_brat_s_controversial_platform My point is that these six points that he's posted on his website as his manifesto have become so unusual that they stand out. Thirty years ago it was just assumed that everybody seeking political office believed this. This would not have distinguished anybody. Maybe you'd have to go 40 years ago. I'm not making this up, and I'm not kidding. This would not distinguish anybody not that long ago, because everybody that sought office was assumed to think these things. Today he posts these six things and they are unusual. They are radical. That's how far off the track this country has gotten. Let me read these again, and again, keep in mind, nobody's embracing this. Nobody's congratulating him. Nobody's saying, "Yeah, you know what? That's the ticket." Nobody is saying, "Yes, if we just get back to that." Just like the Republican Party is really making no effort to embrace what Scott Walker has done and is doing in Wisconsin, which is another blueprint. That continues to befuddle me, but it's happening. "Free enterprise system, the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice." That's controversial today. Not only is that controversial. More and more elected officials don't believe it. They think socialism and Big Government, the benevolence of Big Government, is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice. The free enterprise system, try this. If you're a college student write a term paper on that and see what you get.
1. It's not really controversial at all. 2. It's just that the Left is so greedy and lusts so for power, they lie about everything to promote the notion of Big Government for them to get what they want.
Raul Labrador Adjourns Idaho GOP Meeting As Party Hits 'Rock Bottom' The Idaho Republican running for House majority leader had to adjourn the state GOP convention on Saturday without accomplishing much of anything, after infighting brought the meeting to a total standstill. Idaho Republicans met for a three-day convention starting on Thursday, with the goal of passing several amendments to the party's platform and electing a new party chair. But the event became a battle between the tea party and its foes, as the far right aimed to make up for the beating they took in the state's May 20 primary election by removing contentiously elected delegates. Those delegates accused tea partiers of attempting to work the system to ensure a tea partier became the new state GOP chair. By Saturday, all 15 delegates from Bannock County were successfully unseated, while attempts to unseat delegates from Ada and Twin Falls counties were in the works. Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho), the convention chairman, ended up bringing the meeting to an end before delegates could elect a new state party chair or vote on any party platform amendments, as they had set out to do. âThis is as low as the party can go,â said Labrador, according to the AP. âWe have hit bottom. I think the party has no choice but to go up from here.â
LMAO! Like I said, imbecile: Not A Trend. Expecting 2014 to be a repeat of 2010 has to be some sort of IQ-deficiency test.
Yeah, I certainly didn't see all those democrats being pulled out to vote for Cochran. My bad on that. Who'd a thought the law would be followed, right? Besides, it's not like it was a blowout or something. The guy won by a measly 4000 votes or something and was polled at 8 points down heading into the election (apparently the pollsters also didn't think democrats would be pulled out to vote in the primary - because of that pesky law). Asshat.
What law was violated, dumbass? It was an open primary. Voters could cross party lines. Suck it up. Bottom line: many more people are fed up with teabag assholes. It's not 2010 anymore, Rip Van Winkle.
only those who wish to essentially steal from their kids futures would be against the idea of a balanced budget.
Nobody (like YOU for instance) who has been voting Republican should dare talk about a balanced budget. The only balanced federal budgets in the past half century have all come from Democrats. Shameless. Just shameless. Every damn modern Republican, whether teabag or not, is utterly without shame. Despicable.
