I am mainly a Scalper....although I do stay in trades during the day....during trending conditions. But....I thought I would share my view....of how I would trade the ER....for Swing or Position trading.

I do not have any idea where the top is....I don't use Fib or Elliott or Gann....just Trendlines and Support....Resistance lines....and my indicators.

  2. I've noticed that "they" somehow manage to get it up towards the month-end closes .. (this time it's also a qtr-end).. but today looks a weak attempt so far however er2 outperfoming ES since AM selloff -- "they" just keep on churning and churning ...

there have been so many days, AM profits (from shorts) vanish in the PM. hope it tanks on the close to the lows for a change.

    good trading!

  3. This is what I'm talking about... from 3:45 till 4:15, er2 is ramped up while ES and Dow were going down...(difference of about 4 er2 points!)

anyone has an insight to this action?

... all i can think of is, funds buying to get a better close..?. (I don't think this is short covering which usually happens on up days and it lifts all indices)

    Any thoughts?

  4. Nothing unusual IMO. Standard support test w/o the break. We stayed in value for the rest of the afternoon.

You guys are reading too much into things...

    mktman,

Years ago....when I was trading stocks....other traders were telling me not to trade futures....because it was dangerous....and hard. Well....finally....I decided to find out for myself. I opened an account with a discount broker....with 10k....did $200 net the first day....but I was nervous. The second day....I did $9,300...."net"....scalping. I knew I couldn't do that everyday....so....after that....I decided I needed to set a "net" daily goal....much lower of course. Now....when I reach my net daily goal....I stop trading.

Switching to Futures....was the best thing that happened to me. I was sick and tired of all the bullshit analyst....screwing us over with the stocks. Of course the e-mini's are based on stocks....but for me....they are more liquid....easier to get in and out....Scalping. I have traded Forex also....but for some reason....they bore the hell out of me.

The thing with Futures though....you can lose money....much quicker....if you trade too many contracts at one time. I trade 1 to 4 contracts....depending on the speed of the market. With 4 contracts....I go in with a Market order....by "working the candle"....for less slippage....and put in a 2 tick Exit. Works most of the time.

    Good trading to you.

    lolo24ca,

You may be right. I posted a daily chart on page 19....showing the same thing....but....for me....I wouldn't consider any short....until it crosses my Trendline and Support line.
