Epicurus on God

  1. nice strawman...heard it before. Just because someone is able to do something but doesnt does not make them malevolent though.

Websters defines malevolence as "wishing evil or harm to another or others".

Theres a big difference between not doing something for someone and wishing harm to them isnt there?

  2. Were you raped as a child? Is that where all that hate for God comes from?

  3. Bingo.

But it's funny to contemplate how big the unknowns in the universe/multiverse are and hear someone claim their sub-peanut sized brain has it all figured out....

Even worse when they blaspheme and say they "know the mind of God" - and you better listen to them, or else!

  4. The point I was making was that Epicurus' argument is irrelevant because trying to understand God in human terms makes about as much sense as trying to understand humans from the point of view of a blade of grass.

  6. nope i had a good childhood.

you think its hate to point out verified facts?

why do you think an all powerful god would stand by and do nothing while his represenatives on earth would rape little boys behind the alter right below the cross with jesus hanging on it?just curious how you rationalize those facts?

  7. not in a court of law. if a child killer was to kidnap a child and you saw it happen and you decided to do nothing you could be guilty as an accomplice.

  8. Why do you think God would behave like a comic book superhero?

  9. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because the Bible tell the story of god the superhero.

  10. God is the Judge, not the police. He will give lawbreakers their punishment.

Also because God is so good, he gave us freedom. We can be free to believe or not believe, to do good or bad. The first 3 words God spoke to man were "You are free..." If God exercised his power to stop everything he didnt like, then there would be no freedom. You want God to stop some evil things, but not others. I'm guessing you would not want him to force you to worship him everyday. I'm guessing you would not want him to force you to give him 10% of your income every payday. I'm guessing you would not want him to take away your subscription to online porn. I'm guessing that you would not want him to force you to stop having pre-marital sex(if you ever get any) :p

You want to know why God doesnt stop evil, but his idea of evil and yours are completely different. You going around saying their is no God, is probably at the same level or worse as these priests raping boys in his eyes. (By that I mean that you leading 1 person to hell for eternity with witty atheist quotes is probably alot worse than a few years of emotional pain for a child)
