  1. Because that's what he essentially is?

  2. And you've made it clear that you're one of those with a sub-peanut sized brain who thinks he's figured it all out.

  3. If that's what you think, Gayfly, we know for sure it's NOT the case.

  4. Meanwhile, god exists, always has and always will, simply because it was written somewhere thousands of years ago? Fascinating.

  5. Meanwhile his razor repeatedly slits your numerous and poorly thought out arguments, and you are none the wiser.

  6. Meanwhile, your C- brain "thinks" God doesn't exist because God hasn't behaved as a human would. And, like an infant who is proud of his feces, you're proud of how you "think" you've applied Occam's razor. :p

  7. Meanwhile, you "know" god exists even though you admit you have no idea how he would behave. Nor do you have any evidence to suggest he does behave in any way whatsoever because he apparently goes about his business "almost" as if he wasn't there. (Those pesky deities can be quite stealthy, eh?) Therefore, by default, you cannot perceive him with any of your "god-given" senses. (Neither imagination nor wishful thinking is a sense.) To summarize, you cannot perceive him and you cannot understand him. And yet you "know" he's there. You "believe." Why? Just because. Quite the "thinker," aren't you?

  8. But that free will you speak of would only be available to some rather than all, if powerless victims are to fall prey to the evil. Where is the balance? Oh, right, there is no need for balance. The ever merciful god sees no need for balance or fair play. Otherwise the game can't be played in the manner you describe.

Since you are a fount of hypotheses and theories on god's rationale, why do you suppose he didn't choose a game where at least all the players started on equal footing? In that way, apples could be better compared to other apples in the land of free will, praiseworthiness and all that. Instead, people such as you and I are born into a relatively abundant society while others are born into squalor through no fault of their own and destined to an early grave due to starvation, disease or violence. And even within a given society, there are those who are vulnerable through no fault of their own while others are decidedly less so. Not to put too fine a point on it, I wonder how slaves regarded free will.

As an aside, isn't it simply amazing how far some people will allow their logical faculties and critical thinking to contort in order to justify a favored premise?

  9. All the players do start of equal footing. Everyone is born naked and owning nothing. Its only after they are born they are given things. Some are given things right away. Some later on. And some never.

What was it Gordon Gecko said to bud fox when pointing out a businessman standing next to a bum?

"You gonna tell me the difference between this guy and that guy is luck?"

Not quite merely "naked and owning nothing". I'm fairly sure an expert can look at the brain tissue of the baby born in poverty and see significant differences from brain tissue of a baby born into a healthy, wealthy family.
