Nothing as of yet. Asked them about the refresh issue via their online chat, still waiting. For some reason they "expired" the 11/3 version so it no longer works.
a) Version 2/26 replaced 11/3, and it's the last version without new features. You didn't have to download the new stuff. b) interesting noone here is jumping on your bandwagon. 15-30 seconds, minutes, whatever hang times, would cause major outcry. And fwiw, I have used ensign for 2 years and have never encountered the refresh bug. But I do not monitor 100's of symbols. c) yes, it could be av software. Or other security software. Any program that monitors reading or writing to disk or memory.
I've been using Ensign for many years now, and for the money, can't find anything else close. I've used all the major TA programs at one time or another. I stick with it mainly because I have it absolutely wired, and have few probs with it, not because of the price. However, I do have one pet peeve that Howard refuses to address. It is not optimized to be used in a multi monitor environment, and it never will be. This means there is no way to expand a window to cover just one screen when you want to zoom in. You can get it to zoom to that size, but it may cover parts of two monitors. Involves a lot of dragging windows around.
I agree with this. Ensign is a great program in regards to indicators and alerts. In fact, I would love it if Howard re-wrote the code in something that would allow true multimonitor support like for instance Neoticker. Neoticker is well designed for multi-monitors. I have used them all as well and no one program is perfect. Ensign just happens to be perfect for me in two critical area---indicators and of course alerts. I would love if you could just drag each chart across monitors without have to drag all of Ensign! In my opinion, the program is great but the code is old. He should get some savvy Russians or something to rewrite it in another more modern language or something.
The last programing I did was in Basic so I have no idea if it's the kinda of rewrite you guys are talking about. But Howard is in the midst of making a bunch of changes/improvements.
I am, probably, a mere amateur compared to some of you, which is why I have taken a break from trading for the past year. However, I have taken the year off to study and improve my trading knowledge. I'm looking forward to starting again very soon. Previously, I used Quote Tracker, which I thought was excellent. I had used Sierra and Ensign before switching to QT. I found it easier to work with than Ensign and had far more features than Sierra. It was $7 p.m. and, imho, the best value for money available. I used DTN IQ for data feed, which I was, also, very happy with.
