Nah, I love trading too much to exchange it with anything else!

I hate dealing with "clients", I hate being obligated to anyone but myself, I don't want to having had to answer to anyone, and only the solo-trading can satisfy these self imposed requirements of mine.

$10,000 ? Didn't you make the same proposal to someone else ? Why do you think it necessary to keep defending yourself by making these "bets" ? Here is a suggestion.. take the money and get some therapy, maybe some hidden issues like one too many photons to the head.

    Re trolling, yes I find it a cheap source of entertainment, need something to fill that void from the floor. Speaking of trolling, I think the way you use ET to troll for "clients" (hookers have clients, sounds cheap) next to criminal. I guess thats why I take exception to you, you prey on the newbies. But if you can put up some colorful charts and use a few five syllable words, I guess it's a living. But nothing you have provided suggests any long term success in trading spreads, and for sure not 18 years without a loss. I find it humerous that you refer to yourself as an expert on spreads when;

    - you don't know what the COT report is. That is funny. 18 years and you don't know how to use it. Impossible.
    - don't recognize the significance of carrying charges,Only been around for ALL conmmodities from the beginning of time.
-Advising "clients"(hate that word) on old crop-new crop spreads when you don't know what they are. Unbelievable.

Take your $10,000 and hang on to it. You might need it when the CFTC calls on you.

    Regards, local

So, you prefer to slander and outright lie about me relentlessly. Take it to a very personal level. Troll my posts. And refuse my offer to take a 30 minute drive and prove you flat wrong.

You are a bitter coward when you are challenged directly, sincerely, and fairly to prove your falsehoods. I'm willing to do it. Make it $30K ? Sure. You are not a man, you are a miserable bitch.

May be you should report him to CFTC and ask CFTC to conduct an inquiry or investigation instead of trolling him?

  5. can we stop the fighting and get back to the topic at hand?

i've gone through a few threads and communicated with members on the board here at ET. this is my current to do list:

    - Finish reading "Reading Price Charts Bar by Bar" by Al Brooks (damn thing needs severe editing)
    - Go through a charting exercise using market profile that was recommended earlier in this thread
    - Figure out how to use Investor RT to backtest systems
    - Look into Futures Truth and Wealth Lab for some of their systems and analyze a few of the ones that are disclosed
    - Program a system that was posted by a well respected ET member (Acrary) into Tradestation and try and figure out what it does. Since I don't learned EasyLanguage yet, that's also on my list.

    Feedback guys?

I'm still staying at my day job. But every minute of my free time has been devoted to trading (besides 1 hr for the gym 5 days a week).

'Modeling Financial Time Series with S-Plus' by Zivot and Wang.

'Modeling and Forecasting Electricity Loads and Prices' by Weron.

Every big fund is looking for help with power, metals, and hydrocarbons. Red hot ticket. After you're done with that, PM me for some leads on HF headhunters.

With an Engineering degree, you will have a ticket. Probably start as an analyst at $125K per year plus bonus.

Just throwing my fellow Engineer a bone.

Hedge Funds love Engineers. Especially with any kind of energy trading background.

Every bank desk in Manhattan, including GS, is looking for Financial Transmission Rights Traders.

  9. it seems like they're all looking for quant type traders with programming experience. unfortunately i don't have too much programming experience besides Java and Matlab...every place i look at requires some sort of programming language i've never heard of.

would you happen to know of any firms in new york city looking for trader assistants? this way at least i can get my foot in the door and prove myself.

    thanks bone
