Energy Secretary Chu: Goal Is Not To Lower Gas Prices

Europe pays about the same for the gasoline commodity as we do.. their extra costs are all TAXES! We have $.60-ish/gal taxes... they have $5/gal in taxes.

That's SOCIALISM for you.

 

Hmm I wonder what Chu pays in his native China?

 

Obama would love that over here.

 

Interesting note about fuel taxes, and graph. Yes, it's one year old, but tax rates appear to be about the same.
