Empty Home Depot / Lowe's a good local economic indicator?

  1. The HD and Lowe's in my area here in SE Michigan are practically empty most of the time with a lot of redundant staff waiting to get laid off. How about your area?

That's really interesting. Around here, Lowes and HD are ALWAYS packed, and I've noticed no drop offs in their sales. Was wondering what all the articles were talking about with bad customer service, housing affecting them, etc.

I don't have either, but I do keep an eye on them. Good to know, they really are being pinched in parts of the US.

  3. a - You can buy gift certificates to The Draft, Lelli's or Forte. They are 50% off. So, a $50 gift certificate to Lelli's will cost $25.

    That's how bad biz is.

Fort is decent, and Lelli's is pretty good, too. Their filet is good and so is their pasta.
