Sounds like you are a tail hunter?

Me too, yesterday I bought into some OTM calls on a med-tech, waiting for a fat tail event.

I'm going to assume you're sincere and not just another AI elicitation algo. For the sake of the thought experiment you brought up - what do you do with your life if you no longer need money?

The garden of eden was such a place, and all they had to do was just tend the garden and listen to their sensai. Instead, they took the bait, scratched the itch, opened the pandora's box and fell into the pit called The World, never to escape. Now you are fortunate to no longer need to work for a living, so what do you do? As Soloman found out, it is all vanity!

If you just want to dissipate your money, do like Cain and build a city. It's amazing how many "friends" show up when the party's always at your place.....

  4. I would still do the courses. Not for the profit but the fun and the status. Imagine beeing part of the market wizzards collection.

Short answer is freedom. The feeling of freedom, no money worry is priceless, much better than owning a Lambo, McMansion... I no longer have to feed my ego because now I have none.

These day I trade options not because I have to but because I can, and it is enjoyable. The profits go to lung cancer research and the local food bank and....

If you have lots of money to burn, go buy a yacht boat and cruise around the globe. Lots of fun and tons of challenge. My friend sold his house and bought a boat. He lives in his yacht boat but too bad, he is not adventurous. He only stays in the East Coast waters. His permanent home is his boat. He can change scenery as he like never get bored. Lots of freedom. Let say you don't like Newport, you can always go to Martha's Vineyard or other places at your own comfort pace. Sometimes if you are lucky, you might get a bonus like catching a Atlantic bluefins in the ocean if you have the fishing skill. You can sell it to some Japanese fish brokers for a hundred of thousand dollars.

Trading is lots of fun too if you really have the skill. As a trader, the market gives endless opportunities everyday instead of waiting for months. When trading, it feels like entering into another dimension. Feeling time disappear and stop. Everything becomes effortlessly. But for most people, it is very hard to understand it and master the necessary skills. Probably the best bet for most people is to follow the economic cycles like Warren Buffett.
