Today, it appears that ADX didn't get above 30 until after 12:30 CST. A little time later a divergence appeared which would have allowed a long entry on the open of the 13:30 CST bar at a SP price of 1,919.20. The Keltner band width at the time was around 6.4. The exit was at the 14:45 CST bar at a level of 1022.80, resulting in a 3.6 point gain. The MAE appeared during the 13:35 CST bar with a low of 1018.50.

no_PM, I hope you're feeling better these days.

Why exit at the 1445 bar?

On the big SP that's when it contacted the upper keltner. I haven't tried these keltner parameters on the mini.

My trigger was at the open of the 1425 bar @ 102.54 spy or 1019 ES

My 1540 bar was .25 short of the Kelter (ES),so never really touched. I would have closed out at the close of the 1555 bar for a gain of .14 SPY or +1.75 ES.

Better than a kick in the teeth!!

Different indicators and different plans yield somewhat different results. There is no one way to do this, each trader should develop his/her on plan.

    Have a good weekend

  5. Can anybody please tell me some of the charting programs that have the Chaikin Oscillator besides TC2000 and Tradestation? I have used Qcharts in the past but this doesn't seem to have it. Would like to follow along with you but need to chose a program first. Thanks

  6. Mark, I use eSignal's charting program. There is a Chaikin Oscillator file available for download from eSignal's website.

    My interpretation of method:

    10:00 ADX +30
10:20 New high, divergence CCI, money flow
10:25 failed to make new high
    10:30 Short Spy 103.66 or ES 1030.25
Stop was .22 spy, now B/E

    stop B/E

No_PM has found reducing stops from original is not as effective. I reduce stop as trade develops. On counter trend trades I don't give much room.

Until you've thoroughly tested this, that's a smart thing to do. Remember that NPP has taken only some of the trades that qualify. Until you've tested this out on every qualified trade, you won't be able to reach any conclusions about the most advantageous stop placement, at least on the initial loss limit.

Short ES 1030.75 11:35 ET bar - details to come. Stop is at 1033.50

Edit: Although maybe this journal should be saved for no_pm ? Guess we're all posting thoughts on the method while he's under the weather; keeping the thread alive and all. Get well soon no_pm!
