of course you're right, the gaff was deliberate just wanted to see who was petty enough to mention it
I just had some Fajitas and they said it had "steak" in it, but I'm not so sure Perhaps after seeing the great results the past few weeks and reading about no pm's past success, maybe I just didn't want offshore raining on my parade of possibly being able to match no pm's success my own self. In retrospect, I should read offshore's stuff and make use of it if I can, just like the rest of us. Blue skies and sunshine to all, jd
Just being frank guys... if the tone is perceived wrong, my apologies.... I don't believe I'm being redundant here, trying to hit on different aspects of my point in each post... 'Nuff said on my part, I hope I made some points here in the thread on how to construct a positive edge... Good luck to you.
hey no prob here bro, enjoyed your input, it stands on its own merit regardless of your motives as is always the case. thanks bro.
Any of us who have been active on various forums, newsgroups, etc., over the years knows that it's really easy to misread "tone". Offshore, I certainly did not mean to offend; I should have made it clear that it was a matter of my perception only, not your intentions. JD, I know what you mean about the "rain on my parade" syndrome. Randy, of course I'm petty! Didn't you know that already? Best, Mark
Both your comments are welcome and add to the integrity of this thread... (this is still public forum and so far this journal has been civil in my opinion unlike many others before it) Also...this isn't just a journal about a particular traders trade... In my personal opinion...this is a journal about a particular method. Such journals tend to eventually become heavily discussed about such method via lots of questions about this and that. With that said...OffShoreTrader said there was a better and/or simpler method... He doesn't need to start a journal himself...I would simply like for him to start another thread discussing that method. In fact...it would be unfair to say such things in anyone's journal...a journal about a particular method... without starting another thread to disclose the better and simpler method. In other words...I'm interested in OffShoreTrader continuing this discussion in a new thread. That's what this is all about...to learn new methods...unveil their strengths and weakness. NihabaAshi
well the other point of view which i happen to subscribe to is if your sys/ideas/notions/theory can withstand harsh criticism and analysis, then so much the better for your assertions. criticize from every angle and with force, and that which remains is closer to the "truth". what you suggest is decorum over substance, i can't agree with you.
NihabaAshi made a perfectly valid point though. Why hint at a better method and not share it? Especially in a forum designed for mutual education. In any case, once Magna sees this we'll probably all get a wrist slap for cluttering the thread. So perhaps we should lower our postulations to a dull roar.
nobody is going to share a method that 'works'. The only way a method will 'work' is if its kept a secret, because as soon as it becomes known it will fail. Markets 101.
I think that's a fallacy. At least to adopt it as a universal principle. Many traders use pivot points, standard S/R calculations, and they work. Perhaps because they are self fulfilling. In any case, my point, and I THINK NihabaAshi's, is why hint that there's a better way at all, if you're not willing to share and discuss it? In a separate thread at this point. Anyway, I'm done on the matter. In this thread anyway
