  1. Looks like this will be the first bar to not make a new high. I have keltner range at 5.23 so stop will be 1.75. High was 991.80 so max price I'll take is 990.25. Should be short in 15 sec.

  2. Short from 990.50 stop is 1.75 at 992.25.

  3. I don't have a full position on for this trade. When the stop is less than 2 points I realize all somebody has to do is sneeze and I'll be stopped out.

Okay, last version of the spreadsheet for the day. I didn't want this to be such a big deal on the thread. I won't post much on it in the future. This one's improved though, delete the old ones.

  5. Looks like we're going to retest the high from here. In the past I've tried exiting here and re-entering at the original entry. I've also tried moving my stop to breakeven. Overall I found it cost me money so that's why it's hands off until either stopped out or the profit target is hit. To deal with the sitting mentally I don't think of the profit or loss in a open trade. I think of the trade as in progress so my focus is only on the execution of the method.

    Great thread no_pm.

In this last trade, the problem with using the ES data showed again. I did not have divergence in the ES. So, for kicks I looked at the SPY to see what that chart looked like. I do show divergence there. I have not looked back at previous trades to see if the SPY shows divergence when the SP and ES don't agree or not, but it might be an alternative to look at if someone doesn't have SP data.

I have noticed that due to weird ticks in the SPY (usually the AMEX screwing someone) that the indicators don't synch up some of the time, so be careful with it.

Perhaps the ES did show divergence for others with different data feeds. I use TS2000i with Esignal.

Here is a screenie of the SPY and ES.

EDIT: After I posted this I realized that my settings for the SPY Chaikin were incorrect(3, 13 vs 3, 10), but changing them to the 3, 10 setting did not change the divergence.

I've found the same thing with my own method. Very often, the entry will be "tested". Waiting for this used to be extremely difficult, but I eventually learned that a test is all it is, and that those occasions on which I misjudged the entry and the test becomes a reversal are rare.

  8. When the trade gets this long its hard to not hear the little voice "don't let a winner turn into a loser". In the last down move the low didn't break the earlier low since entry of the short and I show a small positive divergence between price and volume. Both of these are not good signs, but I'll hang in there.

  9. This thread sure gets quiet when a trade is on.

I put in a limit buy order at 985.75. Keltner is flatlining just around it. Maybe if I'm in the queue somebody will gun for it. At least I hope so! 2 hours and a 3 point range. Glad I'm not trading 1 min. crossovers.

One thing I've noticed about every trade I take. Worry starts the minute after entry, pride after each winner, and depression after each loser. Doesn't seem to change no matter how many trades I take.
