Now that ADX is above 30 we need to see the price confirm it's divergence with volume. In this case the price needs to cross above 984.70 before the original trigger would be setup.
One of the most pervasive myths. Fact is, even if you posted step one, step two, step three with arrows and flashing colors, nearly everyone who tried it would fail with it.
Thanks no_pm. I thought you were playing divergence, say, from swing high to swing high, didn't realize that a small 3 to 4 bar runup that showed divergence fell under your radar screen.
ESIGNAL USERS: on esignalcentral.com, i found 3 chaikin oscillator files. after adjusting the settings to 3 fast, 10 slow, none of them ever look similar to NPP's when i compare my chart to his. i know he charts SP and i chart ES, but they still don't look at all similar. are others having the same problem? anyone have a chaikin oscillator file that matches NPP's?
Hmm, that divergence didn't show up the same way for me. Chaikin plotted differently. I haven't had problems with seeing the signals before. What's wrong here?
Looks like I missed the original setup. ADX crossed 30 at the 940 bar. Divergence had been going on for a few bars and that was the first bar down. I like to see divergence confirmed after the ADX crosses 30 to see a clear signal. It didn't happen this time. Maybe I can get in on the retest (if it happens).
no_PM, If I understand this correctly, you're looking for price to make a new high (in this case) AFTER ADX gets above 30. That is, you require that the divergence needs to be completed after ADX gets above 30. (For what it's worth, both the 6 and 14 period CCI (as Woodie uses) were showing major divergences when the HOD was put in at the 10:35 EST bar). Richard
NO_PM According to my understanding of your system all the criteria were met for a short triggered this morning at 10:40 at approx. 983.50 . Is this correct and did you enter this trade?
