so lets make it a little lighter..?

What about the concept of the "present moment" regards trading..this has been the most profound concept in my journey so far..and the most challanging and rewarding..???

imo its the only viable way of staying centered and balanced..to be centered between our greed and fear..like oars to use them as feedback as to our state of mind..?

    Funster ,

I believe you have a point. I make money consistently but i still believe there are easier ways to make money . Its like you have to change your whole life to make money trading . I think you should try other business ventures.

and most of the billionaire traders mentioned OWN their own companies . soros = quantum fund , Trout also , Warren buffet of course we know about . i seriously doubt if there is any trader ( not institutional , or those who own a company ) that can boast of $70,000 a week. If you are looking for anything remotely close to that you are in the wrong business. Trading is not for everybody and you are not a loser for quiting .

  4. You'll get an email even after you post a message. There were 2 messages from you in between Commisso's, so that accounts for 2. The other one could be a cancelled message. You can cancel/delete a response (your own, not others unfortunately) within 15 minutes of posting it.

    PS.Thanks for some interesting insights

You must be kidding. Give Mr. Warren Buy And Hold For Life Buffet a call and ask him if he considers himself a trader.

  7. yes.. i think you missed my point.. its merely an observation that you can either try to improve your trading or you can cry about how its all so unfair.. but the two dont co-exist..

see, now we are getting somewhere.. i used to be a salesman as well.. i worked as a hired gun for two of the larger auto repair franchisors.. to be good in that game you have to be disciplined, focused and determined.. i also developed thick skin as i literally had people screaming obscenities at me every day and it was my job to calm them down and make the sale.. honestly, i think this is a source of one of my trading "demons" that comes around from time to time.. my skin is so thick that the market can be making higher highs and higher lows.. but i think the market is weak.. so i look for a possible reversal.. that stops me, but i have thick skin, i can take rejection and jump right back into the game without a flinch.. so i find another reversal point and short again.. this one stops me.. now im more determined than ever to catch the reversal.. so i short every little hesitation.. short, stop.. short, stop.. and finally i get the reversal, and then it goes in my favor.. but ive taken so many stops that i cant get out when the market gives exit signal.. hell no, the market isnt going to take my money like that!!.. so i hang on, until that trade stops me too.. sound at all familiar? to be successful as a trader, we have to submit to what the market wants to do.. its the exact opposite of what you and i have done for years..

btw, my first computer was a Vic20.. man i loved that thing =)

well im not listening.. because ive been trading for over 2 years and have far more than i started with.. ive taken my share of blows along the way, but im in this because i love the game.. i love the freedom.. and because striving to reach each new level of success at this forces me to learn more about myself.. your problem is that you think you possess all of the qualities that should make for the successful trader, when in fact you possess only the skills and emotional makeup of a losing trader.. the market will either humble you or it will beat you..

good luck in your new endeavors..

VERY familiar! Perhaps you are right about the disadvantages of a rhino skin.

PS: My first computer was a Dragon 32 (any colour you like as long as it's green!)- we couldn't afford a Vic 20 - I was dead jealous of all my mates that had one!!!

Far be it for me to suggest the way for you should make money in this world, but…

Have you ever considered writing a book about your experience as a trader – good, bad or the ugly – doesn’t matter!?

What matters is that a failure in one area of life doesn’t mean that you can’t write about it …maybe make a pots of money – and be successful at it.

Just think of a catchy title (“It took me 5 years” or “From hero to zero” or “Fan (ster) while it lasted”) and off you go.

    Just being helpful.

    Yes I like that a lot :D :D :D

    Perhaps I will.

"How to achieve truly mediocre returns".

    or even "Valueless speculation".

The classic "How to remain a rank outside amateur for the rest of your life"

    :) :) :)
