Look am not saying he is an advocate but he is not a denier. It’s a good thing to have Musk in those circles. Like I said he is a bit kooky but he is pretty solid on the science. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/02/12...eenhouse-gas-emissions-with-a-carbon-tax.html
Trump: How's that Warp Speed mRNA technology roll-out going for us? Take home message: Research don't work that way. 1. Result: NADA. How's that "Restore fair and accountable elections" working for us? Take home message: Delegation requires progress checks. 2. Result: NADA. How's that "...because you'd be in jail." thing working out for you? Take home message: Don't make a threat you cannot carry out. 3. Result: NADA. Three Major Strikes, You're OUT! Why are politicians at the top so feckless. Why do we put up with it?
I do not want to derail this thread, but recent calculations show EVs actually have a larger CO2 footprint over ICEs over their lifetime. The big hit comes from the batteries.
Good point, like to see the numbers on that and I suspect that you are right. Wind power may be the same situation. Ready, Fire, Aim R&D deployment and implementation via subsidation is a two edged sword. Scientists and Venture cap honchos grab the ear of politicians and ya got your run away train rolling down the mountain, shedding 500 million here, 10 billion there and she don't stop untill she coasts to a stop in the valley, all concerned worse for wear and behind where they started. Greed, the folly of man, lol. Electric Gojira!
it's complicated. New Hummer EV? Definitely. New Lucid Air? Probably. Model 3 and/or Kia Ioniq (not likely).
Musk grifted Hollywood and the greenies, him grifting righties w/EV's now that greenies well is dry, is a net positive IMO. Him killing Cali's high speed train system because those assholes are in love w/any cult of personality so hang on to their every word? Not great.
