The left is having a mental breakdown over it. The thought that censorship will be reigned in is too much for them.

Musk taking control of Twitter would kill Twitter. Right wingers look at Twitter and see Facebook with limited character usage but that is not the power of Twitter. Twitter is an interest aggregate where you build feeds based on topics like sports, politics, markets etc. It’s an incredibly effective media aggregator. Musk would turn it into Facebook-lite and kill it. There would be too much of an exodus of big brands and leaders because of the cesspool it would become.
I highly doubt any of that. But what I would say to all of the folks on the left who have been up in arms over the possible transaction is the same thing they've been saying to conservatives all these years "gO bUiLD YoUR owN tWiTteR!"
Those on the extreme left got their panties in a bunch knowing that if Twitter were to present both sides in any news clip that, their petty narratives filled with lies and disinformation would end. There is an abundance of extreme liberal media outlets spreading lies and disinformation day after day----even if Elon Musk fixed Twitter, there are numerous other extreme liberal media outlets still spreading their lies and disinformation. Any business owner should have the right to tell his employees that these are policies of this company effective immediately. If you cannot abide by it, do yourself a favor and resign because these policies will be strictly, enforced.
