I don't disagree with everything you said. However, the idiot dems think we have to be 100% electric by x date which is impossible. There simply isn't enough energy. When dems in the Biden admin have been asked by congress how will the power grid handle the demand, they just parrot, we have to be electric by x date. Also, it is slow because retarded government bureaucrats are running the program. If they gave that $7.5 billion to pretty much any startup team in silicon valley it would be a very different outcome. Do you really think that the US government is more efficient than the private sector?
So what are the requirements for this military stapler that goes into extreme conditions. Government employees are approving contracts based on the specifications requested and accepting the best low cost bid that shows the capability to deliver on-time. These government employees are merely following the contract law and regulations based on legislation passed by your elected representatives.
They know perfectly well the electricity limitations and and the issues grid suppliers have with small scale solar over supplying power at times and screwing up line frequency matters: harmonic distortions, voltage fluctuations, and frequency imbalances etc. Done right, the vehicles can become the buffer. An example is vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, where EVs store and return energy to stabilize the grid during peak times. This kind of thing requires government mandate as fragmented energy companies would never pull together. Yes, government can do a better job than private sector in many areas. It just such a tired and reductive, mouth-breather argument to say that private sector is more efficient when there's endless examples of this not being the case. Theranos or Enron being just two of a near infinity of examples. While private companies can be faster due to fewer regulatory requirements, the public sector often excels in projects requiring long-term vision, universal access, or infrastructure that doesn't guarantee immediate profit (e.g., rural electrification or public transit). Elon's a million on Mars plan CANNOT happen without civilization level resources being provided via the federal government. No private companies come even close to what is required.
Lets put it this way. There would be no Space X without Nasa. Period. Nasa is the demand in that supply and demand equation. yeah yeah Space X can build it cheaper/ faster.
Though I would not say always cheaper. Neil DGT gave examples of this not being the case on a recent Star Talk episode I caught. Especially when private is supporting public, they love to jack up and delay everything. And so many promising all private startups just fail. Many this year. There is a tenancy to disregard how Nasa can attract people who really excel and just want to get results. Nasa without senators demanding a piece of the project for near every state would be vastly quicker.
He is going to make Rachel Maddow cry again. Just like all libtards, she need a safe space from jokes.
The government workforce has been exposed: • Half never returned to the office after COVID. • Some show up just one day a month. • Yet, they still collect full DC-level salaries.
Sam Harris on Elon not becoming a "public intellectual" just because he read Ayn Rand and some sci-fi.
