So all the conservatives in law, business, finance, and medicine did not go to university or went and were fully indoctrinated but then were rescued at some point and returned to normal. Was it the tinfoil hats that saved them from this indoctrination while they were learning organic chemsitry or accounting?
Stop being silly. My point was that many colleges heavily lean left. And many who graduate with once left leaning views - particularly on things like income redistribution quickly change once they become earning income themselves.
They don't need to be political science majors to be subjected to the leftist indoctrination which permeates nearly every college campus. There is no argument that a primary function of campus life is to become politically active and the overwhelming majority of that activity will be left leaning, with much of the right being shouted down anytime they try to speak. The entire education system is an arm of political activism. That is not debatable, it's just a fact.
In a sane world, one would think that this whole student loan scenario would begin to evolve toward a rating system where- for example- students get more availability of funds if they are studying in a field where the economy needs them - coupled with a metric that looks at real live placement data from the actual institution (which may or may not be a college). I would also want to give/take points for a student's actual testing vis a vis peers on an object test. This current grade inflation situation is just insane. Students coming out of high school with all A's, then going to a libtard college and getting all A's. But I dont know, looking at a persons ranking against their peers has gotten to be anti-american, anti-everyone gets their trophy. So now we are being asked to pay for the trophy/student loan that all the marginal types got. or sumpin like that.
You seem to extrapolate your views on to any subject. As someone with some conenctions to academia, class ranking is still very significant for applications to law school, medical school and business grad school as well. High school class ranking is also used by many colleges as part of their review criteria. You are just saying looking at ranking is anti-american because you take the same argument and apply it to everything whether you have personal experience in that area. Class ranking is reported on all transcripts and is reported to universities and advanced degree schools when applying.
Okay, well you made some points that went with whatever was on your mind, versus the points in my post. My comments referred to rankings based on an objective test and related to the disbursement of student loans. And you are correct that I extrapolate my views rather than your views. I have actually been to the white man's schools at several levels myself - along with many others here. You seem to think that we are on your turf or something. Not so. You are just one more voice as am I.
During the recession congress had an education and training program for displaced workers. In that program it was stipulated that the education or training you were receiving had to be in demand. There’s some longitudinal study going on with this program I saw a while ago that was interesting related to regional differences. Can’t find it but some university somewhere was interested in this at some point. Warren is offbase with wiping out people’s debts completely but bringing the debt back under education for servicing fees and zero interest is actually doable.
This whole student loan scam is worse, much worse than the mortgage crisis from 07/08, and it's been going on much longer. 18 year olds being duped by unscrupulous admission reps who are not giving them the full details of what happens when college is over and the loans are due. Will they be held accountable, or given a pass like the banks? Taxpayers bailed them out, who's next up. What needs to happen is the schools themselves should be responsible for these debts. They originated the scam to begin with, it's on them.
