Today's Trades (Wednesday) Introducing a new Portfolio section reporting typical performance fields. Note the risk to profit is at 1:8.91... and...never a losing day for 44 days straight. Increment formula change for "average down" increments. It was widened to give increments that are farther apart. (Electric is Dialing Down with a rare move, a formula change !) Notice the NAV climbing even after Electrics $190.82 withdrawal yesterday. All Electric has to do is to just keep the exposure to the minimum and skate through the rest of the 365 days, to keep a 1:4 risk to Profit ratio...(He should not give them too much!) I wouldn't be surprised if Electric got down to base 8 and rebalanced cash at the next opportunity to be at 7:1 and to hold that goal for a little while or even raise it more, depending on what the market gives (currently cash to trading or "The Gambling Meter" is at a goal of 5.85:1). This really is "Not Gambling". Nobody in a million years could backtest what Electric does. This is a system of discretionary sliding scales... Website: www.ElectricSavant.com Zip File:
Nevermind. There are a few people in "the Establishment" watching your performance. You do not need to think about this, just do what you do best and TRADE! I will take care of the office, PR and Sales ok? Wifey
Could someone give me the Excel Formula for Sharpe? and any other "establishment" formula's that I need to add to the new portfolio section? Wifey
I have got an interesting Daily Candlestick on the Oanda Charts at this time on the GBP/CHF. If you go look at this right now, newbies, you can experience a perfect Doji which is the title of this Japanes Candlestick Formation. Note the long tail and it's postion to the high.... How do you call it? I see strength? (I will take a day off from the Gym today, but I will take Wifey out to a nice Sushi dinner this Evening) I need this indecision in the GBP/CHF to resolve itself and this is a very slow time for Forex right now. Investopedia: A name for candlesticks that provide information on their own and also feature in a number of important patterns. Dojis form when a security's open and close are virtually equal.
While I have no knowledge of the Forex markets, my experience with equities indicates weakness. When one sees a 'doji' candle formation subsequent to a daily high, a reversal usually follows. If you could provide me a CME (or other suitable symbol for use in Qcharts) symbol for the GBP/CHF pair, I could provide examples. - Spydertrader
Hello there, Oanda's Candles form from Midnight to Midnight est, while most other charting platforms use 17:00-17:00 est. But so far your correct on your call... This chop zone can be tricky and it might be a safe long entry placement for a few days...But this really has nothing to do with the system, other than I should be at home watching when there is profit taking nearby. I just wanted to share some terms to some newer traders that have been PM'ing. Sometimes I have noticed the late buying power in the bar carries over to the formation of the new bar in the direction of the trend... Michael B. See attached chart
I'll defer to your knowledge of the Forex Markets and how to proceed to trade the currency pair to which you refer. While I hope to educate myself later this summer with respect to Forex, my current skill set remains quite limited in the currency arena. Had I been able to locate the correct CME symbol, I would have provided you examples of how the formation often results in reversals. Thank you for providing the chart. The Doji candle combined with an abnormally high volume surge often provides a signal for a coming reversal. Frequently, one can mark the high of the day at this very point (when not using a daily chart). You also correctly observe how this formation can (with the aid of an indicator or two) show continuing strength. Recently, both MFLX and DCAI exhibited the behavior to which you referred. Continued success to you and your trading. - Spydertrader
Follow up on chart... Note how the lows have broke the lower channel...Spydertrader may be correct...But Forex is a strange Animal. Either way I have a limit order setting down there or a mental take profit waiting up there... We have a light Economic Calender this week. Michael B.
