  1. The thought processes here are several dynamic scales working together in parallel, all based on "price action":
    • Gambling Meter.
    • Rolling 1 Y range increment calc's.
    • Relational and dynamic Ideal proportions.
    • Carefully chosen pairs to carry the trades with.
    • Balancing "average price" between instruments, "chasing the current price"

The adaptive concurrent balances should prove to be interesting at extreme tests of this system. The readers of this Journal are seeing live "trading extremes" and now there needs to be a "drawdown extreme" to see if Electric has the calibrations set correctly.

Electric is extremely complex sometimes and at other times "simple, plain speak minded". For example he threw another point at me...He said the calibrations can change and float as applied to these scales if need be. He visualizes all this at the same time in his head, and tries to write it here...I apologize for talking so much about my husband, but sometimes he amazes me and I can see his "calling" as a Trader and a Professor.

    Wifey

P.S. What I want to see is, if there is anything the market can throw at this system, to cause it to become better or challenge it. (Electric once had a system that made an insane amount of money in the emini's, but he stopped trading it) He could stop trading this system too, without explanation...

P.S.S. Some of you more talented ones could draw bell curves and graphs of the scales at work here and you can see what Electric is doing...trying to explain this is another thing...The flow of the market and containing the "unknown" during different velocities is quite challenging. There is no forecasting or trend following with lagging indicators with this system. It is reactive, not forecastive...new word?

The "unknown" does not make trading "Gambling"

  2. ok folks "dig in" the trading days are over....I am looking forward to 3 months of daily interest collections...

Hint: if you want to fade me...go short AUD/JPY, GBP/CHF and Long EUR/HUF...you will eventually get what you want...The EUR/HUF is a little risky though..Just stick with the first two.

  3. I must understand that "one directional trades" appears to traders and readers as risky. The direction does not continue forever.

I am looking forward to an extreme test of "unrealized drawdown" and am confident.

    Michael B.

P.S. If I told you folks that there were other pairs to add that would hedge this and still net a reasonable yield would you believe me? This iillustration is just one way, I am sharing. There is no reason to hedge, yet. but if you wanted a fixed income annuity, boy have I got something for you...:)

  4. That GBP/CHF will just not stop (there is still some buying power there). I will be forced soon to take some more profit and trade again...sheesh..I predicted the turn around on this system...and I still believe we are near...The trouble I am having is ALL three pair will turn..and these are non-correlating pair! The EUR/HUF may be what saves this from exceeding the max unrealized drawdown we have seen from the first 37 days....(17.1%)

    Michael B.

P.S. It is wrong for a trader to have a favorite pair. We just trade what makes money. I MUST TELL YOU A SECRET, I AM PARTIAL TO THE EUR/HUF....SHHHHH DON'T TELL THE OTHER PRO'S ABOUT MY WEAKNESS.

hey Electric, you kinda happy I helped you decide (a little bit) on giving up the grid idea for now? lol

even the self proclaimed "master" sympatico is really feeling the sting now on his account with this 1100 pip eurusd move with no retrace!

BTW - I am still working on the grid idea, but with directional input, it can never work as a blind system

  7. jasonjm,

Just got back from the Gym....

    I never give up :)

Good trading to you jasonjm. Even though the Volatility Grab idea is fascinating, I would never wish "ill will" on another trader (not that you are jasonjm) If Sympatico and others are going through hard times, even if he does not wish to admit defeat, I wish Sympatico and all those traders trading that methodology the very best!

Yes, jasonjm Thank you for the help and perhaps you, mogul and others saved my forex trading life. But I believe in the concept still and have faith that Sympatico is alright. There is a great disappointment and insecurity felt by the sharing and disclosing of part of what is believed by many to be the Holy Grail and the undoing of it...

I view the EUR/USD action as positive believe it or not. The boundaries are widening and all those profits to come will be marvelous for those trading it.

There seems to be some confusion over at Oanda about what I am trading....:) I am trading System #2 which is not Sympatico's "pool" or Simspeeds "Grid" which was System #1 's illustrations and research... Do you see any of that in the current spreadsheet? No? Pehaps English is not Sympatico's first language and he should really watch his drinking...

    Michael B.

P.S. I didn't read a book or copy anybody. If my system is resembling somebody elses trading, it is purely coincidence. I stumbled on this stuff as I went, and some of it here and years ago...You folks witnessed the building of the spreadsheet and its corrections day by day here live in ET!

I do not usually think like this, but Wifey says there are a few jealous people over at that "other" forum.. but I wish them the best....by the way, I have never claimed NOT to have a screw loose!

  8. Today's Trades (Friday)

Increased Margin Available Goal to $200.00

    Completed NAV column and graph.

Again, there was some trading today. Projected Yield at 116% APR.

Yesterday, marked the day Electric brought the account balance back up to break-even. Electric has been trading Retail Spot Forex for one year and ten days (but he is not new to trading). He has slowly been trying to recover the dollars he lost in one month due to a margin call he suffered trying to scalp with Bollinger Bands...(Shame on you Electric, you knew better, than to make this novice mistake!) I hope you have learned something. It was a long climb back. See to it, that you do not blow it again ! Try to remember this when you start bragging here on ET. Really you are the most humble guy I know...but you really got to make sure you keep your Ego in check. Confidence is one thing, but I can't stand a blow-hard, braggard type, which you are NOT.)
