you might be right about where the work fuck came from. My wifes parents are from Holland. And while they speak english well my mother in law sometimes searches for the English word.

One time in a restaurant she said, When Jan retires he wants to "fok" ostriches. It was said loud enough that many people in the restuarant heard. It was one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. She was mortified and everyone else in the family was rolling.

Now for my input. I do think curses as a form of communication are for a weak mind. However, if you rarely curse when you do it can be quite dramitic and really drive home a point. Also what else do you say about a specialist after a particularly poor or missing fill.

  2. When i was a kid, seeing a female nipple was a huge thing..

    :D

so why is seeing big pushed-up-by-bra seductive (luscious) tits considered OK

and that little fleshy darker colored disk at the end is considered taboo and obscene?

Yelling "gosh darnit you sucker.." and "JUDAS PREIST.." at my monitor seems silly to me. a bit too much like Ned Flanders (Homer Simpsons next door neighbor)

the censors decide what is "acceptable", and then society (sheep) makes it into a tradition.

It has always seemed BIZZARE to me that the most violent murderous acts can be portrayed vividly onscreen, but the entire act of the creation of the life that some dude onscreen just "blew away" is completely taboo..

  6. I just wanted to say that if you're worrying about a little profanity here or there on these boards you need to get a life. There certainly is not widespread vulgarity. An occasional outburst does not ruin the credibilty of the board. Besides real traders don't sit here posting all day, because they're too busy trading. Only pseudo traders are posting a whole bunch of posts each day during market hours. The real trader come in and comment occasionally when they have free time or after hours when the market sucks anyway. Oops sorry, does "suck" qualify as profanity. If it does, that sucks.

exactly- a lot of these guys here are "psuedo" traders. i have never looked at ET during the trading day- i am too busy trading/ doing research/ looking at charts/ reviewing my plan & P/L progress. there is always something to do while trading, i come here every so often when i am bored/ need to laugh and ALWAYS after market hours......but, too many of the people here make their few trades/ day- they consider 20K tix/ day "HUGE" lol (thats the first 30-45 min for me) and then try to claim they know so much and are such great traders. its really pathetic. i was about to say "fok" this site for good because of the many idiots, but i have got a pretty good "ignore" list going now, so it weeds out the fluff (ps- the backgrounds thread provided me with lots of ignores :D :D ) but, there is nothing wrong with being inquisitive when you are naive and new, but don't try to front like you know your shit when you don't - and most importantly- if you don't make money/ have a clue- don't give wrong advice to someone genuinely seeking help. my 0.02

  9. I believe what you are saying is not necessarily accurate in every instance.

There are many traders, with many different styles.

I remember an interview I read a couple of years ago or so with Teresa Lo where she spends quite a bit of her trading day just resting on the couch, waiting for the market to come to her.

Her description of trading was a lot of boredom in between waiting for the trades.

The way in which traders fill the time in between trade setups is a personal path.

Those who don't need to look for trading systems, have alerts that warn them of market changes, don't need to study charts, don't continually look at their P&L, etc., may just have time to play around posting.

Also, some are actually able to multi-task to the point of being able to watch a screen and write at the same time.

Strangely enough, even Don Bright has time to post during the day, and Marketsurfer has time to post during the day, and you will find traders in chatrooms killing time, and posting during the day.......

Trading is a bit like baseball, there is often a lot of time to kill between pitches, and posting is one way to break the tension and monotony.
