  1. Ok,
I'll dumb down my arguments for the average dumbfuck republican that you are to GET it.

    So listen dipshit.

-- For people to retire, they need to have income to live with for the rest of their life.
-- Retirees compliment their meager SS checks with income derived from their 401Ks and also hold considerable wealth in their houses (can be used as a source of income by either a reverse mortgage, renting them , selling them and moving to a smaller house)
-- 401ks in large part invested on the stock market/ corporate bonds because they carry a "reasonable return".

-- In part because of the failed MACRO ECONOMIC policy of the federal gov of the united states... and the NON-EXISTANT regulation of Capital markets; equity markets Tanked and the credit markets FROZE.

-- In part because of excessive liquidity and a business inspired gov sponsored "ownership society" a real estate bubble formed , exploded and deflated. In the process, depressing the wealth of millions of americans, even more tragic to Seniors since they don't have the "start from scratch" option

-- The money used to invade Irak could have been used in Alternative energy / infrastructure projects and keep the wealth inside the united states, which would have led to smaller deficits, maintained a stronger dollar, lowered the price of oil and KEPT on par or elevated the purchasing power of the average senior citizen.
-- The Fed government failed to come up with a market based of mandate or socialist or whatever solution to impossibly high health care costs incurred by seniors
-- Health care spending represent a major % of senior citizen expenses

-- pre-retirees find themselves with much smaller 401ks
-- They need to work more or live on lesser incomes.
-- The labor market is detoriating even further and seniors will find it even more dofficult to work, even if they want so
-- Millions of Seniors are delaying their retirement

    Got it artard ?

  2. Obviously, Dowd has no idea what's she talking about. Legitimate shorting is as important to financial markets as wolves are to the wild ecosystem. I think the problem is illegitimate shorting, whether it is the naked shorting that flytiger has been on top of for a while but seems to escape the SEC's notice, or the kind of organized destruction involving a campaign of CDS sales, naked shorting and rumor-floating that Jim Cramer has been railing about. They have given everyone a black eye, and one of the great mysteries is why the SEC/Fed/Treasury/NYSE et al didn't do something. They sat on their hands while as bunch of gangsters destroyed our financial system and probably destroyed our ability to be traders in the future.

There's a lot of blame to go around, but unfortunately we are the ones who will pay the price.

  4. Yes, I believe that too. Because, as our left wing nutjob opines, 'we are dumbfucks'. What are buildings and a few thousand lives when 'being fair' is at stake?

If this University hack gets elected, they'll be more graft than a plastic surgery ward. They'll be passing the dough around, and in a short period of time, it'll be back in the same hands, and they'll try it again. In four years, they'll be such a blowback, we'll be farther right than Powell was lamenting about today.

And I live in Florida. All I see is a thousand yard signs, and the phone ringing off the hook. But he can't shake McCain. That's because most people have a brain, and if you believe hanging w/Ayers, Wright and that Catholic wack is normal social discourse, you don't deserve to be Pres. You can represent those criminal interests in Chicago as Senator. They deserve him. And like, if he does win, they won't want favors?

And BTW, 'tard', it's your Democrats who are taking the big money from Wall St. That's documentable. So, what do you say about that?

  5. Florida will vote Democratic. 3 weeks, we'll see.

Yeah, people with a brain vote republican, in your dreams

    Alabama, nebraska, missisipi VS
    NewYork, Washington State, California

Where is more wealth generated ?

  6. I'll give you a clue. The majority of white men will vote GOP in ALL of the states you mentioned.

  7. SO,
That's what's REALLY bothering you. White men don't hold more power per vote than any other votes :)
and even if you win one last time. The demographic are playing against you.
Next time A white man accedes to the position of president of the United States, it would have been because he convinced the majority of the US voters that he's worthy of their support not because White men voted for somebody like them.
Some White men are competent (Gates at the Defense dept), some suck ass (Bush, Cheney)

White men have been consistently voting Republican, sometimes fairly sometimes usi bullying and smears. All good stories have an end .
    Here is my prediction
you'll lose the house of representatives again
you'll lose a blocking minority in the senate
    you'll lose the presidency

you might as well laser tatoo LOSER on your forehead.

Pabst I really don't know how it is that you've gotten on this white kick the last year, but it doesnt help you win your argument with anyone who's worth having on your side. The fact is that if Obama was a white guy his idea's would be just as bad, being black has nothing to do with it.

  9. You're all over the map.

In your first post you mentioned the lower dollar as a cause for U.S. stock declines. In fact it was the opposite. Dollar weakness made U.S. assets attractive to foreigners, helped the global competitiveness of made in America and to a certain degree choked off competing exports. As the dollar has strengthened stocks have cratered.

As far as Iraq. The invasion began in Mch/03. The same month the major averages bottomed and turned good. Correlation? Probably, since virtually EVERY U.S. military endeavor has resulted in higher stock prices immediately after. Does the markets valuation of GOOG or F have one F..ing thing to do with American fiscal policy let alone America in Iraq? Hardly.

Oil hasn't rallied anything more than a zillion other items (including wages). We produce 40% of the oil we use. Higher energy prices for some hurt for others are a blessing. How dare a wildcatter in Texas or Alaska, a farmer in Iowa or a cattleman in Montana earn the same as an advertising exec in NYC. By the same token while U.S. residential prices have slid from their highs-yet STILL higher than 2000-farm acreage has increased. Cry me a river that a square foot of Upper East Side condo-mania now sells slightly less than an acre of Iowa farmland.

My residence has lost several hundred thousand in value. A decent chunk of my "net worth". do I blame anyone? Fuck no. The rally in real estate prices was a ridiculous mis-price and perhaps the break will be equally obscene to the lows. That's markets. That's the democracy of valuation. Those "retirees" had the option-as well as homeowners-to be SELLERS at high prices. Who tells them not to time markets? The media complicit with the mutual fund industry! To assume that an over stretched asset will return higher and higher returns-hence becoming even more over valued-is ludicrous. I feel for those who're hurting but when their homes were worth twice as much a couple of years ago as now I'm sure few of them felt pity for the poor sap who was renting because he couldn't afford a home. Middle-class asset holders are no less smug and greedy than any other robber-barron.......
