Yes. We're not going to have a V-shape bounce anywhere until we get people to follow the three simplest rules of hygene today. That will allow people to get back to work, and will allow companies to get back to profitability, and allow markets to get some bull momo.

But people are stupid, and the case counts and deaths keep rising.

Remember the April through Aug recovery? It was the shape of a checkmark, not a V. Sep-Oct had a small V which collapsed quite heartily in the past 2 weeks.

Well, wouldn't that be worse? Biden wants to do the "national mask mandate", so after 11 months of this shit, someone at the top FINALLY says, "Ok, wear your mask", and then the sheeple will then decide it must finally be serious and cause panic mask-wearing and TP hoarding?

I say get rid of the whole lot of them and put in a monkey with a typewriter. Just be sure it has a supply of cage-free coconut milk.

OMG yes, bits of clothe covering your face, that's worked so well all over the world, no hang on, everywhere that's put masks in has seen a sharp uptake, seems bits of clothe create the perfect breeding ground for virus's who know, oh eveyone.

I'm up for the Monkey mind!

Someone in the middle, not left or right would be better, but everyone is either left or right so never going to happen.

You're being quite generous. Don't forget about every other federal mandate that is supposed to sunset but re-engaged every election cycle.

If the federal government makes a national mask mandate it may as well become permanent. There will be no return to normalcy. Masks will become the defacto standard and as a side effect every small infection our immune systems are trained for becomes infinitely worse because of the lack of exposure.

The most likely course of actions would be:

Biden gets elected - January on the first day he signs an execute order citing criminal punishments for not wearing a mask. Of course, this means everywhere because there's no room for nuance in the federal government. After being gently reminded by secret service what his name is so he can sign his EOs he also undoes everything Trump did in one penstroke.

At first, the arrests trickle in. First it's just "magatards". Then it's a family at a park whose indiscretion will be parroted on national media as a disgrace to the safety of the country. Jobs will be lost. CNN and MSNBC will hail god emperor Biden as the single source of sanity in the world and the people being arrested are simple miscreants who are science denying racists. They'll remind you that every mask worn saves a "PoC" life because "PoCs" are "disproportionately" effected by the virus. If it wasn't for Trump's white supremacy we could've done more and now you, the people, have to suffer for it.

Then it will be diners eating without masks between bites. Somewhere between this point and the last one the federal government will partner with state and local governments to form a "see something say something" hotline and the busybody leftists will get to ruining lives. Cancel culture just got federal approval baby, and the last year of conditioning by the Biden administration makes it feel good to see one of those anti-science retards losing their livelihood.

Eventually, someone will be shot by police in a terrible misunderstanding. With a megaphone, above the discontented masses, Biden will shout "none of this would've happened if Trump did anything right". The year is 2023 and winter is coming. We were supposed to be over the pandemic 2 years ago. We're reminded by the news that this is all Trump's fault and we simply need to endure a little longer. The chicoms have been buying up west coast property as jobs continue to be lost. People can't afford to live anywhere anymore. Togetherness is staying apart they will tell us. 2024 is only months away and it feels like years. It's never been the same since Biden was elected. But we're finally beating the virus.

Yeah, no shit? And people on here made fun of me when I suggested that a whole generation of people have stronger immune systems because as kids, we were allowed to eat bugs and lick dirt and rocks! Thereby strengthening our immune system!

Glad someone else around here understands a day in the life of a normal human's immuno-response system.

Now everyone, pretty please. With sugar on top. Wear the f---ing mask.
