It really looks like Obama is going to win Florida. Polling averages would be right again.

I'll have to disagree with these two. But I think you may be missing the fact that a huge portion of the Republican base dies off every year (old white people) so you'll have to broaden your base. Like it or not whites are becoming a minority in this country and that's a fact. So running from the middle will definitely benefit your party.

  5. The right that Reagan and Bush ran under is now the left wing of their party. Christie knew this, which is why he cut bait.

  6. Good post, completely agree. Not enough people recognize that we are racking up loads of debt on teaser rates and that this is the SOLE reason that we have a preservation of some semblance of the status quo.

That people actually believe the "economy" is recovering is almost frightening. It's a complete mirage.

  8. No chance of it. We've already reached the Bernank's "fuck it" moment and that just got us thru the first term. The debt has grown exponentially and we can hardly produce positive growth.

The only reason Bush 2 won was because he got 40 % of the Latino vote.If he had ran hard right he would not have gotten that % and he would have loss to both Gore and Kerry

Better for who? For blacks? Doubt it. Latinos? Doubt it. Middle class? Probably the same. The rich? Fuck yeah. Completely agree with you there. The rich will be much better off. Is that what you wanted?
