Yep. They are losing their way in key areas. Fox News Ratings Continue to Wobble as Hannity Reaches Another Low, Beaten By Tucker Carlson Replacement on Friday Tucker Carlson’s been gone a while now. His chair has been filled by a bunch of replacements, some known and some very anonymous. On Friday night the miscellaneous show at 9pm actually beat the preceding Sean Hannity hour. Hannity, whose numbers got up to 1.9 million during the week, fell to 1.3 million on Friday night. This seems to be a trend for Hannity Fridays. Maybe all his viewers go out to dinner once a week. Hannity’s number fell by 600,000 on Friday to 1.3 million. The word is that Fox News, currently down by more than a million viewers per show per night, is thinking of making changes. They might move Hannity to 8pm, and fill the 9pm hour with jackass Jesse Watters. The once hot network is suffering from the fallout of the $787 million loss to Dominion Voting and the realization, maybe, for its viewers, that it lies to them all the time. https://www.showbiz411.com/2023/05/...eaten-by-tucker-carlson-replacement-on-friday
I thought typically that all the cable prime time news programs had lower viewership on Fridays than on Monday through Thursday.
Not sure how that addresses my point.... it is a social media platform and U.S. is filled with enough dumb people to believe something on social media as facts and not check it out at all... Bad enough people treat the news that way (for example....how many millions believed homeless vets were being evicted from a hotel in NY? ) elon musk is not responsible for educating or informing the people, he is running a business to make money.
Aaa… Eh. DeSantis is giving people a chance to see his launch uninterrupted. It really is a powerful tool. To your point, the Republican Party has transitioned pretty well from the “alternative media” of talk radio to social media in getting their “alternative truth” to their base. I always go back to Rush Limbaugh and the power he had over climate change. It was probably the most effective disinformation campaign ever in the United States. Back to DeSantis, From what I understand the launch will be moderated by some billionaire republican donor who is anti Ukraine. So yeah don’t expect the guard rails you would get with a traditional network platform. I’m sure the truth will be loose. But what I am looking for is where is DeSantis going with this billionaire guy? Is he looking to make Ukraine a central piece of his campaign? That would be risky but it’s a radical enough message that it can stir up fanatics and bring his campaign energy.
