Completely agree. And bitch McConnell is an idiot. Losing his mind as quickly as Ice Cream Brain Freeze Joe. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ys-hes-working-hard-not-screw-2024-races.html
Is there any meat on this? It sounds ominous. Just wondering if there's something there that might spook the markets. Odds are there's not, but ya never know. What do you think it is?
We are grinding into a period where there will be lots more Hunter and Joe negative talk and events but I don't see any real market impact from it. It is just part of the dark overall picture in DC and the uncertainty related to the election and economy. Doesn't mean some pundits won't attribute some Biden gyrations to x,y,z. If doj charges hunter this week and the market tanks, well, we have debt limit stuff brewing, interest rate cumulative impact, credit crisis, war, and talk of recession brewing too. Pundits get to pick their poison.
Well yeah, like I said, any market impact is doubtful, that was merely the first thing that popped into my mind when I read the post, but it did pique my curiosity further, what do you think it could be such that Comer said "Hold off on the indictment" ?
Oh, Comer has received the boatload of SAR's suspicious activity reports from Treasury and they are working their way through them and he sees all the transactions from china, Ukraine, to biden family members. He anticipates/is trying for additional charges to come against hunter and the syndicate so he wants to roll that in with the current investigation. The DOJ however is desperately working to cap the allegations against Biden to the old stuff that has been around for years...ie. the lying on the gun application, the tax fraud, failing to register as foreign agent. Comer has new stuff and wants the DOJ to explain why they are capping it off. The other thing, is that there are whistleblowers that have asked to be heard before congress. One of them claims to have a certain document and he told Comer/Grassley where it is and who has it and it has been subpoenaed. Allegedly it goes to Joe's involvement along with Hunter in taking bribes/cash from questionable parties. The subpoena asks them to turn over the document by Wednesday and allegedly it is not classified. The point again is that Comer has lots of reasons why they should hold off on capping charges against Hunter. The other thing that is being talked about more and more is: Why is Merrick Garland's DOJ suddenly back involved in settling issues with Hunter/Joe - current and being investigated? Isn't that why they originally appointed an independent counsel - the DOJ guy in Delaware? But now that things are heating up, there seems to be a lot of direct reports to Garland in the DC office getting involved. Does not have a good look to it. Devon Archer, Hunter's business partner, is now on his way to prison, or will be after his sentencing hearing this week. Hunter Biden- not on his way to prison right now although he participated equally with Devon Archer. It is good to be a Biden these days. More to come.
Theoretically there could be more indictments. Except Comer sees what's going on. Hunter's attorneys have met with the DOJ prosecutors to try to getthem to drop or reduce or talk about plea deals more. Generally the last step when the defense is told or believes they know what the charges are going to be. The problem is- and Comer knows this- is that DOJ wants to put this to rest as much as Hunter does. They are not looking for more charges against Hunter. It a major headache for them given that Garland reports to Biden, etc. If it were TRump's son it would be different. They could not wait to get out of bed in the morning to find new charges. Comer also rightfully fears that they will enter into a plea deal with Biden, where they give him immunity against other crimes that may have occurred in return for his guilty plea on the ones they are charging him with. That would be a big win for dems because it would cap further Hunter investigation which is actually a Joe investigaton. Joe and brother Jim lead the Crime Family. The Wednesday cut-off thing is a little hazy to them and to me. But apparently Comer is responding to rumor/inside info that the DOJ was going to announce charges or dismiss or something against Hunter this week. So Comer made a pre-emptive strike by announcing that he would hold a press conference on Wednesday to outline other shady areas that Hunter and the Bidens were involved in and present some evidence or assert that he has it. His goal is to give fair notice to the DOJ and the people that he sees what they are doing- they are deliberately trying to kneecap further investigation that leads to Joe- and that he allegedly already has documentation on that. The dem plan - with the help of the DOJ- is to have Joe going into the campaign and saying:"Hunter is the smartest guy I know but he developed a drug problem like many families experience. He made some mistakes but he has answered to them in court and that is done." Because, I guess, everyone who has a family member with drug problem knows that it leads to flying around the world on a plane with the president and coming home with a billion dollar contract with the Chinese. Yeh, those drug addiction side effects can be a bitch.
Hmmm. This is good stuff. But at the same time, didn't you also suspect the Dems secretly want Joe out for a candidate that can last another 8 years? Wouldn't the above be counter-intuitive to that plan? Or would it have more of a broad-sweeping, and damaging effect on the Dems in general if St. Joe was tarnished?
Ahh, that would take some discussion but those arguments are not necessarily contradictory or mutually exclusive. There are dems who want a better candidate and president. Many of them are within the beltway and also in Congress but equally out in country. That is one category of dems. But then there are insider/administration/direct appointee/ handler type dems. That is another category. There is a whole cabal of handlers/ political appointees who are dependent on Biden being in office for their own personal gains and power. They have ZERO interest in seeing Biden leave early. Merrick Garland for example is an obsequious toady totally dependent on Biden for his status and power in DC. He does not want to caught protecting Biden but neither does he want to get caught not protecting him. This thing could blow up on Joe and it could also blow up on Garland too if he is not careful. They want it to end and be capped. The problem is that the dems do not have a fine tuning knob they can use on this situation. There are ones that desperately want to see someone other than Joe run and be there, but they do not necessarily want to see him so badly damaged that it takes away from the dem party. They are trying to crank the pain up a little for Joe- the media too with its reporting- to maybe move him along or entice other candidates into entering and maybe get the process to move him out- versus the republicans who are willing to do a full frontal assault (although not as vicious and corrupt as they did to Trump). So there are a lot dems who want to move Biden out but they also do not want to see the investigation go too far. They will say otherwise but they fear that there could be some seriously dirty laundry there- and Kamala is all they got if Joe shits the bed and falls out. As I repeatedly say, the pubs have their problems with Trump and all of that and I do not deny that for a second, but man, the dems go themselves a disaster shaping up. It is a disaster if Joe is not elected and it is a disaster if he is elected. As Thomas Jefferson said about the issue of ending slavery or not- "it is like having a wolf by the ears. You do not dare to hold on, and you do not dare to let go." Short answer, many dems want him Joe out but his immediate circle of appointees and handlers do not. This is a dream come true for some of them. The president is just a cardboard cut-out and they get to run the government.
