  2. Brace for impact.

    Biden might survive this weekend.

The following one? Not so much.

Doesn't mean that he will pull out. He is pretty far gone in the head but by the end of next week, all dems who count will be out and open and the party openly saying they are working to remove him. If Joe sits in his basement watching Laverne and Shirley reruns and counting his delegates, well that may be too.

Kai Trump, 17, Trump's granddaughter speaks at RNC: 'He’s just a normal grandpa'

Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, 17, made her political debut on stage at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday evening.

“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa,” the daughter of Donald Trump, Jr. said, smiling during her political debut on stage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school.”

Has this ever happened in recent times? Or ever?

And if it does happen, do you think it'll be Kamala that gets the delegates or someone else? Remember, there's that campaign money thing, technically only Kamala can dip her hand in that till. But they have to be thinking she'll be a weak candidate. Look at 2020.

And here's a question... can Joe even "assign" his delegates, or does he have to just turn them over? If he can assign them, and he doesn't give them to Kamala, that will cause trouble, but if he has to just turn them over, then the Dems, can start with a clean slate and put together their best effort at a winning team. Kamala would still be pissed but she'll be out for sure. I don't see her being very happy playing second fiddle to someone else.

Last question.... the $10,000 one. Do you think they are working on obtaining their ultimate ace in the hole, the one card that has the highest probability imo, of beating Trump. And you know what card I'm talking about. The Michelle card.

What's the drop dead date, if you'll pardon the pun? The date someone new would have to be "annoited" by the Democrats in order to make ballots for early voting?

  9. I think it's going to be Harris at the top of the ticket and a straight white man to balance it out. Most likely Beshear, Cooper, Pritzker, or Shapiro. I would bet on Beshear. He checks all the optics boxes (that most voters don't really care about) to balance out the DEI black female POTUS candidate:
    1. WASP (Shapiro is Jewish)
    2. Good looking enough (Pritzker is fat)
    3. Young (Cooper is old)
    4. Two term (Shapiro is only in his first term)

The only thing against him is he's not from a swing state like Shapiro and Cooper are. PA is the most critical. The only path to victory without winning the Rust Belt would be to sweep the Sunbelt (GA, NC, AZ, NV). Polling says these states are tougher than the Rust Belt. Their easiest path to victory is by sweeping the Rust Belt. Now, is this how I would pick a VP? Hell no. However, it seems to be how the Democratic Establishment picks their candidates.

  10. I will just say a couple things, and not attempt to "know" what the experts all differ on.

In general there are differences between dem party rules and pub party rules so that complicates things.

In regard to Joe assigning delegates there is a difference between what he can call for and extract promises for versus what he actually controls. He cannot assign his delegates to Kamala but can withdraw and ask his convention delegates to vote for Kamala. In reality though this is controlled by the party at the state level and all the states have similar but different rules. They may decide to leave a delegate to the convention in place who agrees to support kamala or move that person out in favor of someone else who is open to another or other candidates. Complicated.

In regard to Kamala and the bit about her being the only one who can inherit Joe's money, otherwise it cannot be used, that is somewhat true but also more complex. The Biden campaign cannot hand all of that over to another candidate but they can give it to PAC supporting dem candidates, and then not coordinate with them as required by law, and let them do what they will with it. ie. support candidate/candidates of their choice. Including just holding it until a nominee is chosen and applying it to that candidate's benefit. So it is not as though it is returned or lost to the dem's benefit.

Nothing going to happen with Michelle. Other than the usual, which is that she will say no but create a cycle of buzz and adoration which she does like clockwork. But she is not going to do any real work.

Now for a trip down memory lane: VZ, you may recall that about six months ago, I said that you have to watch out for the possibility of Joe getting into trouble and/or Kamala being in trouble so he steps down right before the end of his term and let's Kamala be president just for a brief period (longer if she can win) thereby getting points for being the transitional president and putting a black woman in even if it is just for a brief period. Whereupon you said, as I recall, it would be beyond Rumsfeldian and off into "four horses of the apocalypse territory" (paraphrased)

Not sayin' that will happen. I am saying it is within the scope of Rumsfeldian possibilities.
It is looking very Rumsfeldian out there these days. Expect the unexpected. If Joe drops out then he will salvage whatever "legacy points" he can on the way out.
