Gold Bar Bob living the good life. Not sure it will be quite that good in his future "venue" - whether that be federal prison or Cuba after he flees. Bob Menendez drops thousands in donor money on pricey steaks Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), who is on trial for allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for using his powerful role in Congress to benefit three New Jersey businessmen as well as the governments of Qatar and Egypt, has a juicy habit: spending donor money on expensive steaks. Menendez, through his campaign and leadership PAC, has picked up dozens of checks totaling almost $40,000 since last January at Washington, D.C.'s swanky Morton's Steakhouse, a favorite hangout spot of the New Jersey Democrat, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Since 2003, the ex-Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman has dropped more than $386,000 at Morton's for meals, catering, and fundraising events. The routine spending is a window into how members of Congress are able to tap into large sums of money through their campaign committees to enjoy some of the most luxurious restaurants in the nation's capital. Morton's has a 36-ounce tomahawk rib-eye that will run hungry customers $139 and also boasts a $129 wagyu rib-eye that is 14 ounces. Its patio on Connecticut Avenue overlooks K Street, and the dining room "caters to D.C.'s powerful elite," according to Morton's. A story from 1989.... Biden said this year Fact check: Biden repeats his false claim that he ‘used to drive an 18-wheeler’
Yes a story from 1989 and you don't think that would affect his thinking nowadays. Fine. + + + “I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man,” then added, “I got to.” IOW "I got to" .... "drive an 18 -wheller, man". Boy you don't want to compare SleepyJoe's vs Doofus's all-time whoopers do you?
On the surface, this is a sleepy little development to mop up the Ohio ballot problem. (link below) But there are a lot of implications here. The online roll call voting would actually be the real vote, and the in-person voting at the convention later then becomes ceremonial. There is a lot to unpack with this. First of all, it will then accelerate the calls to cancel the Convention because the official vote will have already taken place. Second. There are plenty of dems who are looking to the Convention to move Joe out or extract some concessions by replacing Kamala or variations of that. To nominate and confirm him before the convention just cuts the legs off of any of those plans. In addition some probably want to lock him in early and avoid floor fights because his status is shaky and this works perfectly for them. Except it has implications. Implications that some might not be prepared to live with. Many of the Dems are still in denial about being stuck with Joe and this would be a wake up call far too early for them. The DNC plans to vote on the plan on June 4 coming right up. Not the final nominating vote but the vote on whether to proceed with this scam. That alone will probably touch off some fireworks and skirmishes. Or maybe they will all just keep sleepwalking into oblivion. Who knows. The Dems are not all that smart. What a mess. The progressives are looking to have chaos at the Convention. They see what is happening here. ie. lock Joe in advance and cancel the convention. Then what do they do with all the black and white checkered tablecloths and masks they bought? Can't have that. Great commentary, but might I add this: Once again, more tech and less paper. Bigger picture putting this issue aside, the slippery slope is slowly but surely getting more slippery. I didn't click on the link, but why in the world do they need to do this virtually? To juice PANW stock(?)... because the more of this that occurs, the more $'s the powers that be feel the need to be spent on cyber-security. Lets call a spade a spade.... the ONLY reason there are so many doubters about the 2020 election... is because 90% of everyone out there doesn't trust the zero's and one's between point A and point B. As well they shouldn't. And now we have Blackwell. NVDA's new super-dooper computer that can generate Taylor Swift singing songs she (nor anyone else) has ever even heard. Complete with Taylor video belting out the notes. We need a 4rth party...."The Paper Party." Save democracy by keeping all this ever evolving bs tech that only a select few understand out of it. It worked for 200+ years. We haven't grown that much in numbers. ~jmho
Ha. Trump won’t see it that way at all. The rules don’t apply to him. If gets into office he will try to stay beyond the term.
