Interestingly, when Trump first ran in 2016 he had buku problems with Evangelicals. You may recall Ted Cruz won Iowa. Anyway as Trump slogged through the nomination process then the VP pick would be essential to his viability at winning the general. Enter Pence. Who brought not only serious government chops to the ticket but also evangelical creds. Today the world is much different with Evangelicals deep in the MAGA fold but it was Pence that delivered that very important cohort for Trump. All politicians are weasels. There’s no way to be every Roman woman’s husband, as they said of Ceasar. So they all take these expedient stances in the primary and then to use a euphemism “pivot” to the general election. They’re all weasels in that sense. At the end of the day it’s just another brick in the wall and another point of evidence that almost no one gets out of Trump world unscathed. If you join team Trump you will more likely end up with a prison sentence or burned rather than riding off into the sunset.
And then there's the small matter of Trump being okay with the crowd wanting to hang Pence. So easy to overlook; so easy to forget. Whatever anyone thinks of Pence's "pivot," I don't think that's the key story here. Maybe, as I noted earlier he found his god, or maybe he just grew a pair. Either way it was late in the game, but better late than never.
I actually find the Pence Pivot to be expected. He was running for president against Trump and knew that he needed Trump's supporters to get the nomination. But when he dropped out of the race or was beaten out, he no longer needed to play that game so he "suddenly" reverted back to how he really felt. I call that kind of man a fucking moral coward. Yes, some of it goes with the turf. But that is a pretty advanced case. There was never a time when he was going to support Trump this time around. He just needed to avoid looking anti-Trump while it was useful for the whore and then when it wasn't, it wasn't. Now, I guess because I do not get enough hate mail, I will say something that will get me some from the conservatives, to wit: When it comes to the religion/evangelical path there is only one president in my lifetime who has not played games with it. And that is Jimmy Carter. Ironically, it hurt him every step of the way. The lefty dems hated him for it and treated it as the elephant in the room that no one should talk about and the conservative southern dems hated him for it because it caused him to be nxxgger lover as some said in exactly that manner. He dealt with though. It was/is part of his life before, during, and after and I don't think it is something he weaseled around with. Jimmy walked quite a lonely path there amongst the dems in some regards. The dems want everyone to look different because diversity is allegedly their thing. Except they want everyone to think the same. Yeh, Jimmy and Rosalyn took a walk on the wild side and went against the dem flow there. He also took massive heat from the dems when he said -during the Clinton scandals- that "it was fair to judge a man on how he was faithful to his wife when evaluating him for president." The dems did not like it. Now the lefties will point out that Trump presents similar problems but he was just saying that you can evaluate it and it may hurt and you may still end out voting for the person but you should not get slippery about it. The dems were getting slippery and arguing that Clinton's personal life and conduct were not a factor and we are all just puritanical Americans.
I agree that it was expected and I think it's a non story. It's too bad for Pence that he has destroyed his future. I liked him.

You indicated that Trump was ok with the crowd wanting to hang Mike Pence. Please show evidence of when that occurred.----(hint, there is no evidence of that)
