Oh he would be plenty willing to get beat up if he were getting traction out on the trail to offset it. But he is not. Same with Christie, he would be plenty willing to get beat up by Trump - again- if he were seeing any traction out on the trail. But no one wants to get in JUST to get beat up by Trump. Trump takes beatings too. BIGTIME- but he has rabid supporters that serve as a support group through thick and thin. I am still not sure that he has enough supporters to match the beating he is going to take this time but that will not stop him. Just make it lonelier for him. Melania at home during the rallies? Ivanka sitting this one out? Okay. But different. It would be a gamechanger if DeSantis did not run. I think DeSantis keeps more people out by -until recently- being the presumed alternative than Trump does by intimidating them. Everyone knows that there is only room for two people in the primary: Trump and the primary non-Trump alternative. Both of those slots have a lot of votes waiting for them. All of the rest- not so much. DeSantis is the only one that could open up one of those slots. Trump is not going to willingly. Pence doesn't have any traction or much of a support out there either so he will be withdrawing or not-announcing sometime soon. Good thing he has Mother to stand by his side.
Yeh, whatever. I am old enough to remember when he said he would announce in February - presumably he meant February of 2023. What a clusterfuck it will be when he announces though. He has a chance to not run. To call it a day. To let all the dem media declare victory for his first term. To bail out early but label himself as a "transitional president" who was called to take charge in a time of crisis, blah, blah, blah. Or he can run again and have one of the messiest and pathetic endings to a presidency ever. The question is: Which one does Jill want? Because what she wants is what we get. Just as with Fetterman. Whatever the ambitious wife wants is what we get. If it kills old Joe or Fetterman, well, that is a minor consideration if it allows them to stay in their power circle longer. No punchlines here. Peterffy Pauses DeSantis Support Over Social Stances, FT Says Just a few pieces of wonky level information in this article that nevertheless might be worth noting. 1)Peterffly is not backing Trump this time- we know that- but now he is no longer backing DeSantis either. 2) Apparently Peterffly has a rub with DeSantis's position on abortion which he believes makes him unelectable in a general election. I will note in passing that Chris Sununu is pro-abortion (or more liberal on abortion period allowed). Just sayin. He is well down at the bottom of the totem poll but you never now who could suddenly be talking to him or whose attention he would get if he did run. 3) I note in this article that a pro DeSantis PAC is going to start running national ads next week. So that will be some serious foreplay starting in with more to come. Of course the anti-Ron ads are already cranking away and they are pretty nasty. More to come on that too. As I say repeatedly, they gotta work it out on the playground. Are we looking at a CHRIS SUNUNU-TIM SCOTT ticket? C'mon mates. Just kidding. OR NOT. Was coming here for this exactly. Donors are not stupid they want to win for tax and corporate stuff. They don’t care one way or another about this social bullschit BUT see the “trannies in schools” as a winning strategy. However, the control over reproductive rights and book banning basically negates the anti transgender movement because it riles up the lefties something fierce. Yup. Rocky road. But you know which candidate is actually pretty good with all of this social stuff, Trump. Lol.
