In an email to supporters Tuesday, Scott said he planned to make a “major announcement” Wednesday morning on Fox News. What do you think Trump’s nickname will be for Scott? Soft Tim, maybe? Where’s his top, 6-7%? Definitely in the Veep stakes though.
Yep. Quality VP. Plus he upgrades the atmospherics of the primary. He is a gentleman and not a hater. That is to say, the libs will treat him like dirt and as a runaway slave because he is black and not a democrat. Also, he is Christian so that will bring out the haters and require the dems to portray him as "the black face of white supremacy." We know the drill. Tim is a nice guy though. He does not make a good target but we know they can do it. Tim and Nikki will certainly mess up the South Carolina primary though- both being South Carolinians. If they are both in the primary race by then ("if" being the operative word) that does not leave much free-floating unattached oxygen in the room for others.
So with Trump taking on water, Sen. Tim Scott decides to help him out by splitting up the anti-Trump votes in the GOP. All the while Trump's favorability rating sinks to new lows -- creating a nightmare scenario for GOP. Trump should thank Tiny Tim for jumping in.
I don't know. The lefty arguments get convoluted. If anyone else gets in then that is helping Trump by diluting the vote. But then again, what about "no one else getting in" does that not help Trump out, eh? Some of these theories need to be updated a little as we go forward. They are based on an assumption that Ron D is going to be the only alternative to Trump and that he is the only one that can beat Trump. But then again, if I say that, you pipe up and say that DeSantis is headed nowhere. Whatever, let some people enter the race. Trump's taking the nomination is not a given to me. My comments are on the record. Others have made good points and say that he is. I acknowledge all that, but my view remains unchanged. Be interesting if Mike Rogers enters. He said a couple weeks ago that he will announce whether he is or is not yet. I don't know what traction he would get but I do believe he is playing for the same niche that Pence is and his entry would immediately take Pence out, to the extent that he is in- which is not much. Pompeo allegedly still considering but not much response on all his tours around the country. Pompeo announced he will not seek the Republican nomination for president today. Ok. I think he just doesn’t want to get beat up on by Trump because he definitely wants to be president and as much as I don’t like him, he has the right timber. Total wuss. Anyway, this doesn’t mean he is out of the game either. He can certainly become a surrogate for a deserving candidate and believe it or not I think he matches well with Nikki Haley. Yes, the same Nicki Haley o dismissed as veep material. If he can link up with Haley they can really make some in roads on Trump in some states. And I know DeSantis will court Pompeo but DeSantis and Pompeo don’t seem to have similar vibes.
