Election 2024 Foreplay

  1. Well, I have no doubt that Trump will bluster about a third party but by the time the reality of not getting the nomination sets in (say, for example, if that is the case) based on some primary losses or lower poll numbers, it will be too late to go third party. That is very complicated scenario that requires a hard core, extremely efficient ground game starting the year before. It is hand to hand combat, state by state to collect signatures and meet all the legal requirements, blah, blah, blah. Realistically Trump is having trouble organizing a traditional campaign let alone take on a venture that is not for the faint of heart or undisciplined. Not Trump's forte. Kelly Ann Conway rescued him last time, got in his face, and told him she was in charge of the campaign from here on. He would need five Kelly Ann's blasting away full time on a third party challenge, starting a year ago. Just to get on the ballot. My view.

And I don't know what Trump is living on for funding these days. Many key donors are leaving or have left his camp. That gets worse if he goes third party. He loses RNC funding and he loses the federal campaign funding that goes to parties that got at least 5% on the ballot last time. If he wants to revert to his 2016 mantra which is that he is so rich that he can fund everything himself then this would be the time to do it. I think there are some holes in that assertion though.

That is a long-winded way of saying, I don't actually accept the premise that he will go third party. As I said, blustering and bloviating about it by Trump would be one thing- but getting his fingers out of his arse and doing it are two vastly different things. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

On the other hand, just because I don't think that Trump can and will do it, that is not to say that I don't think it will become a big issue at some point because it most definitely will but for a different reason. And that is that the RNC is allegedly going to require a loyalty pledge to even get on the first debate stage, regardless of your status in the polls. In other words, if you don't agree to support the final RNC nominee of the party -regardless of who wins- you are not getting on the stage. That is going to drive some interesting "discussions" and drama for sure as the debates approach and Trump has to figure out how to posture himself there. Let me just say that talking about going third party if you lose is not a good way to navigate that.
What to do? This is something that Trump will have to resolve out on the playground.

GOP primary candidates must agree to loyalty pledge in order to debate, RNC chair says

Any candidate who wants to take part in the GOP’s first primary debate in Milwaukee later this year will have to sign a pledge promising to support whoever wins the nomination, Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel said Sunday.

  8. Lefties backpeddling bigtime now to convince you that they doubted/doubt that Trump would be indicted right along. Nope. Some of the aforementioned lefties are amongst us in our midst.

A week ago, they were crowing about mug shots and perp walks coming up.

Alvin Bragg can't deliver for them and reality is setting in.

Bragg is trying to collude with some of the other Trump prosecutors in other cases to come up with a scam that it somehow makes sense to not proceed with the New York case first. And Alvin Bragg will be a giver by cooperating with them.

SCAM! He can't get it up now that time has come.

Pathetic. Don’t worry we’ll find something for you to be right about one of these days. There’s always “more to come.” Lol.

Anyways, I remain skeptical as ever.

  10. Not in the Alvin Bragg scam.

That would be a case of me arguing "not much more" to come.

See if you can spot the difference.
