Well my point was there is a disconnect in the electorate between their perception of their personal finances and their perception of the overall economy. This is not insignificant. If you perceive the economy as poor then you are likely to drawback spending as you have some doubt of your future financial position. A kind of self fulfilling prophecy.
Yeh. I get the perception can become self-fulfilling reality thing. Problem is, though, Biden and Americans are having a problem with reality becoming reality. You go out to buy a car or house and the price/interest rates/availability are reality. Go to the supermarket- and whammo- even if you went in feeling peppy about everything and Biden and the economy then it there is a dose of reality right there for ya. You got intergenerational problems brewing bigtime too. Everybody going to TG dinner soon. The older folks have houses. The younger ones do not and many will never. With crime and hatred becoming so bad in America under the dems, it is harder to lead a life of simplicity too. And simplicity used to be a core means of living a reduced income/purchasing power life while still having a life of dignity. Grammy or someone starting out might have previously lived in a scaled down neighborhood and just lived a simple life. Not so now though. Homeless tents, shootings, fentanyl, hatred from neighbors for some progressive cranked up reason, etc. A kid goes down to the CVS to get a birthday card for Grammy and there are fifty fucking low-lifers in there looting the place and everything that is not looted was locked up out back, just a picture of the item on the shelf. The Americans feel a profound sadness for the collapse of the country. The Democrats are fine with it. All they worry about is how Biden is doing in the polls. Blame it all on the Jews, is the new theme. Not all that new actually.
Cris Christie still working full steam ahead, exclusively, to become President of New Hampshire. Not working yet, but hey, he is living large. How could it be otherwise? giggle. Oh yeh, the knives are out for Tlaib. Not sure where it will end out but it will be fun watching her sweat. I keep my expectations low. The ability of the dems to re-elect people who are anti-American and are disgusting is enormous. The Hamas Caucus in the dem party will rally around her bigtime and they have lots of funding coming from "places." Probably she will be looking over the list of terrorists to be released by the Israelis to see if one of them wants to be her campaign manager. You know, for example, I just saw Senator Blumenthal from Connecticut on TV. I remember back when he was campaigning for the Senate and kept referring to his service in Vietnam. Later, he was forced to admit that he has never been to Viet Nam. But dems just said: Yeh, he is a piece of shit. Let's vote for him. See what I am sayin'. Being repugnant is not a barrier to being re-elected as a dem. Dems never lose a chance to ramp up the Asian-hatred when they get it. Keep in mind these are the same clowns that go ballistic if you mispronounce "Kamala." For those of you who saw her say this, the issue was not the mispronouncing of Vivek's name. This can happen and is not a problem. It was her demeanor about "whatever it is" type of thing and he needs to go home, etc. Y'all may remember that that was one of the things that brought Chris Cuomo down when he referred to Vivek's ethnicity by saying "or whatever you are." The dems are a nasty bunch. It is amazing that that Donna Brazile cow is still around in dem circles. She has disgraced herself so many times over, but the dem standards are so low. The cow got caught outright giving Hillary the debate questions in advance. Not a prob. Someday Blacks, Asians, white men, Jews, straight people, Christians, people from rural states, working class people, etc are going to wake up and realise that the dems hate you. Asian American Foundation slams Donna Brazile for mispronouncing Ramaswamy’s name The Asian American Foundation slammed Democratic strategist Donna Brazile for mispronouncing Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s name, arguing her mispronunciation furthers the “perpetual foreigner myth” that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) do not belong in the U.S. “Refusing to pronounce someone’s name correctly & telling them to ‘go home’ furthers the perpetual foreigner myth, fostering anti-immigrant sentiment that AAPIs do not belong in the U.S.,” The Asian American Foundation wrote in a post Monday on X, formerly known as Twitter. “AAPI names are not punchlines & we expect public figures to use their platforms responsibly.” While on “Real Time with Bill Maher” last week, Brazile, the former interim chair of the Democratic National Committee, was questioned on how to pronounce Ramaswamy’s name. And of course, in addition to the points made in the article below, there is the prevailing thinking that they will have to run the table with Joe Biden leading up the ticket. Not a projection that I subscribe to, but there is a basis for it. Viewers can decide for themselves whether that is a plus or a minus for the down-ballot candidates. And if there are dems thinking that having someone other than Joe at the top of the ballot would be a rising tide lifting all the boats below, then I say unto you: Watch your arse. You could do worse. Newsom is not proven east of Sacramento, and Kamala heading up the ticket would be an Olympic-level turd in the punchbowl. Having said that, the Pubs have little or no plan for getting out the vote so there is that- along with the fact that Trump has more baggage than Sea-Tac Airport - so there is that. Although even though Trump presents risks of unfavorability or bad behavior with some, I don't think it can argued that the pubs are therefore equally at risk as the dems. The dems have far more seats open and at risk and the pub ones that are open are in red states that most likely have already come to grips with Trump and also do not have a lot of down-ballot dems that might cause them to pick a straight dem ticket. Dems, you are fucked. Stop making bad decisions about this Biden thing and about domestic and foreign issues. Getting to be too late to turn it around. Democrats forced to run the table on incumbents to keep narrow Senate majority Without Manchin in the race, the party's task of keeping its 51-49 majority has become even harder. Republicans only have 10 incumbents up for reelection this cycle, while Democrats have 23. Three of those 23 are in red states, including Manchin's. The other two are Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH). If either loses without Democrats picking up long-shot seats elsewhere on the map, Republicans will retake control of the upper chamber. Tester opting to seek a fourth term in and of itself was a major win for Democrats, giving the party a fighting chance in a state former President Donald Trump carried by over 16 points in 2020. But Senate GOP leadership is expected to pour significant resources into the contest. Democrats forced to run the table on incumbents to keep narrow Senate majority (msn.com)
