  1. It's Tim Scott's home state too. So she has to overcome that along with the problem of Trump currently dominating the landscape.

It's a tough slog for her. Or anyone not named Trump. She is gaining against DeSantis though so she is elevating herself for second place while hoping that Trump will slip on a banana peel or something. If she did it, it would Rumsfeldian. ie. it is unknown how she could do it. but that does not exclude the possibility of the unknown happening. That is how we got Obama and Trump, after all.

What was Haley's record when governor? What did she accomplish? She never brings it up.

I think she was the one that removed the Confederate flag from flying above their Statehouse. I could be wrong on that though, but I think it was her.

I think DeSantis might rise from the dead. That is based on nothing really, but I have a gut feeling he will.

  6. Yep. There will be plenty of rising and falling for candidates ahead. And falling and rising.

The cringeworthy thing that I must say- that might get me some hate mail- is that parallels between Ron's campaign and Kamala's campaign are developing. Yeh, I know. Not an easy thing to say, because Desantis has a history of accomplishments and Kamala is a dumbtwit.

But longggg before Kamala announced she was largely, largely touted as checking all the boxes and pre-ordained to get the nomination. But the minute she actually started interacting with the world outside her home state, things got rocky very fast and persistently. The other thing was that people immediately noticed that she had annoying, alienating traits that seemingly if you knocked he side the head and told her to stop that she would do that and increase her support majorly. She she was clueless and beyond repair. Desantis has that problem as well. He goes into a crowd where a woman will tell him that she spent her social security check to drive across country just to shake his hand- and Ron says. "Ok." And moves on. Over and over. That's Kamala dumb. Bubba Clinton would stand there and feel her pain so long that it would hold up the entire campaign event. Which one is/was a great campaigner? People will argue that you cannot be someone you are not. True, and you don't have to be elected either.

You say that you think that Ron might rise/rise again. And that may be or not be. But it makes me think of Kamala's campaign again. Massive numbers of dems could not get it out of their head that Kamala should be winning but was not. And yet they voted for someone else while thinking Kamala was the ideal candidate- in theory. Except not out where the rubber meets the road.

All of that sounds like airy-fairly political talk but at the end of the day it is not. Kamala's campaign ended because she ran out of money. Yes, Tulsi Gabbard dealt her a death blow but she was already closing down campaign offices when Tulsi did that so she was weakened already. And that is the same minefield that Desantis will have to cross over. Everyone gets that -in theory- Desantis looks/looked destined for the nomination but at end of the day, what does your cash/donor situation look like, Ron? It's not like you can live off your charm and charisma.

  7. Yep. Well, Trump has em all over a barrel. The pub candidates don't dare to go against Trump because they want some of his voters and they don't dare to play rough and examine the other candidates because if they can't some of Trump's votes they want to be able to get the votes of the supporters of other candidates.

    What to do?

Haley wants to tout the fact that she was a leading force in bringing non-union labor auto manufacturing to her state. Fine. Let the other candidates examine that at the debate. The Pillsbury Dough Boy from New Jersey makes a lot of self-congratulatory statements about his record in New Jersey too that go unexamined.

  9. New Jersey is always up to some kind of crooked, corrupt arrangement.

    It's in their blood.

Some money will be exchanged along the way too. It's the New Jersey Way.

  10. Biden out picketing with the UAW.

Meanwhile, press secretary Karine LaPoupon refuses to outright state whether Biden is supporting one side over the other.

Shakin my head. First to the left, then to the right, then left-right, left-right
