Well, not only Christie but many Republican Senators are calling out DeSantis on his pro-Putin appeasement policy -- stating directly DeSantis is wrong.
That should be "stating their opinion that DeSantis is wrong." The voters will decide what they think. Tucker Carlson sent out an organized questionnaire to all of the announced and probable candidates -in regard to their position on Ukraine- and got responses back that have kickstarted this flurry of discussion. He did a good job there. Not many others are doing any real reporting. I guess Nikki Haley did not respond- but that is her choice and the voters choice to have an opinion about her non-response.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that Ukraine's war against Russia is not a 'vital national security interest' for the U.S., in comments where he called the war a 'territorial dispute.' Ronnie can score points talking about how much or how little of a threat to U.S. and how much aid we send over there since that is becoming the GOP talking points but he has to be careful of trying to minimize this is a territorial dispute when daily images of russia invading, bombing and destroying cities in Ukraine. Russia and Japan arguing over Islands and who owns them is a territorial dispute...this is sadly a lot more.
Indeed. But the back and forth between DeSantis and Ukraine and the dems is or will be mostly productive in my view. Ron is learning that this campaign is not going to just be about Disney and wokesters. He is a leading candidate for president and his views on Ukraine need to be fully vetted. This will not be easy on Biden and the dems either- even if DeSantis's view does not prevail (not saying one way or the other, I don't know). Even those who reject Desantis's comments are not opposed to pressing on the democrats hard to find out just what "as long as it takes and whatever it takes mean." So there is no free pass in the long run for the dems just because DeSantis is moving into the hotseat on the Ukraine issue. More to come for the dems as well. All of that is fine with me. Smoking out people's real positions is a good thing in campaign season. Of course DeSantis is in a bit of an awkward position because he is not an announced candidate so what the hell would a state governor be going to Ukraine for unless they were planning to run? Anyway, that little charade will clear up in June after the Florida state legislative session ends. And after Ron announces, he definitely should go over and he probably will. Whether it changes his views or causes him to double down or causes him to adjust/qualify them I dunno. I am not trying to control his positions. Just find out what they are when pressed hard. Ditto for the other pubs and dems.
