It will be good practice for 2028 for them.

  2. I suppose.

Although I think such a debate is a higher risk move for DeSantis than Newsom. It's an optional debate for Newsom and he will still be around and getting pretty boy attention after and in 2028 too regardless. Doubtful that DeSantis will be a candidate in 2028 if he loses this time. It is not that he is losing that is the problem. Being second or third place can still set you up for the next time. The problem is that he declines the more that people see of him. That's a problem that Hillary and Kamala also had and it's a bitch to overcome.

Now, I will say this and some will wrongfully assume that it pains me to say it: Newsom held up very well and comported himself well in his long interview with Hannity. And Hannity beat the "California is a sewer and everyone is leaving under your leadership" drum very hard as predicted.

The reason it does not pain me is because I look forward to the chaos that is will/would create in Camp Biden and amongst the dems to see Newsom perform at a level clearly above Biden. I am tellin ya- as I did again today- the minute the polls start putting Biden numbers up against a "hypothetical Newsom and/or Kamala" there is going to be some thinking out loud that has heretofore not been said out loud amongst many.

So tell us... in which state are campaign ads to elect Joe Biden being run currently? In which states are currently running ads from Democratic-leaning PACS to elect Joe Biden?

"(House Natural Resources Committee ranking member Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.)) added: “The ANWR lease sale never should have happened. I’m glad to see the Biden administration putting our legal and moral responsibilities to protect our environment, listen to tribes, and do right by American taxpayers above polluter profits.

    A. He gets paid ~$170K per year.

    B. See A.

So all his constituents will just love when gas goes back above $5 per gallon?

This shows Biden incompetence, or there is a plan for him to drop out at some point

Joe Biden is redefining presidential campaign frugality
The president spent less than some Senate candidates. He had just four people on payroll.

Why should an incumbent President with no serious opposition in his own party campaign during the primary season. Cite one example EVER in American history when this has been done.
