Election 2024 Foreplay

  1. Suarez drops out of the race, for what it is worth.

He was a strange one. He voted for Hillary and for Andrew Gillum and wanted to win a Republican primary? NOT.

Hurd and Asa Hutchinson need to drop out too. Or the debate criteria raised to move them out.

Edit: Burgam needs to go too.

What are the qualifications for making the second debate?
Candidates will need to hit at least 3 percent in two national polls, or 3 percent in one national poll and 3 percent in two polls conducted from separate early nominating states (Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada), in order to qualify by the Sept. 25 deadline.

They will also need at least 50,000 donors, with 200 unique donors in 20 different states or territories.

Who’s qualified for the second Republican debate so far?
Former President Donald Trump has qualified for the second debate but has downplayed the idea that he will appear, posting to Truth Social on Monday that he will “not be doing the debates.”

The other candidates who have already qualified are: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, businessperson Vivek Ramaswamy, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Know what I think would be a hoot to watch, not that it will happen obviously... but I'd buy tickets to watch Trump and Christie go head to head on the debate stage for 2 hours. :D

You may not like him, but you can't deny Christie is pretty quick on his toes. Figuratively of course. At 325 pounds.

  5. Don't underestimate Trump though. Christie reduced Rubio to rubble then Trump reduced Christie to rubble and had Christie making hostage videos to try to get a job in the administration which did not happen Trump let him grovel for months and then threw him in dumpster rather than give him a job.

The thing now is that Trump has his boy Vivek riding shotgun for him at the debates. And V is pretty quick too and knows that he gets points from Trump for piling on to Christie as needed.

No one likes Christie for anything other than some quick sumo wrestling. Not as a serious candidate. He is also getting away with a lot of stuff at the debate but will get his sails trimmed when everyone smartens up. Christie crowed last time about being the republican governor to get elected in a blue state so allegedly that shows that he can unite country and work with dems. Except he failed to mention that he had the lowest favorability rating/ 15% of any governor in the country when he left and was up to his arse in scandal. He is going to unite the country by getting both dems and pubs to loath him as they did in New Jersey????? MIght want to tidy that argument up a bit before taking it out on the road.

I have previously conceded that he will probably get a decent share of the vote in the New Hampshire primary. He has some kind of boner for NH and has spent almost all of his time there- working some tired old theory that if you can make a strong showing in NH or an early state that that will prime the pump. Nope. You have to work all the states and then a strong showing in an early state does tend to spillover into other states if there is already a decent level of receptivity from previous work done there.

And his primary plan is to gain votes at the debate by beating up Trump. Except Sun Tzu Trump knows that "The greatest victory is the battle that does not need to be fought," He did not show up at the debate and left Christie looking like the big swinging dick at the children's table at Thanksgiving. For whatever that gets him.

Oh make no mistake, christie doesn't have a chance. And yes Vivek is the Roy Jones Jr of the debates... no I was just musing that Trump vs Christie head to head, might just break out in a fist-fight, because I could see Christie (not Trump) getting so pissed off, he might just make a move in that direction on stage. Wolf and Anderson would have to run up there and step between them. Trump would just smirk.

  7. Trump keeps quite a bit of "high performance fuel" packed away on him too. About a 150 lbs worth. Or should that be 250.

Did he go on a diet? Looks like he's shed a few pounds.

  9. So, here we go again. Yet another example of the lefty media jumping the gun and going after Biden when they know full well that the script calls for them to start that after September first. Bad dog!!!!

The minute that the lefties believe that it is a go with Newsom they will rip Biden down on the corruption thing with a vengeance and it won't be pretty for the guy who has lived like Bubble Boy in the White House with full protection from the media. But they do not dare do damage him unless Newsom or some other Plan B is in place. Otherwise it just damages the dems and is a plus for the Republicans. Not the desired outcome. Joe may be okay if they cannot if the Newsom thing does not materialize but the lefty media definitely knows that- even though they do not talk about it in the light of day- they have the goods to bring Joe down any time they want to pull the plug. Kamala too. She is as worthless as tits on a nun and the minute they stop propping her up it is all over for her.

    Hey Tree....
I've got one for ya. And right now, the odds are 50:1, depending on which Brit website you go to. Some higher, some lower. And I'm talking about the 2024 winner.
    >>>>ie...the President.

And I've gotta say.... for real.... those odds are tempting after the list of observations I just heard.

Hahaaha. But for now, I'm leaving you in suspense. Make a no-jeopardy guess and get it right... 1 shot... and I will really be impressed. It was a compelling set of observations they shared with yours truly... that's all I'm gonna say.

Open to any and all guessers btw. Not just Tree. Either way, it's still a long-shot imo at best. But their 100% "man (or woman) in the street" reasoning/observations... hmmmm. I took note.
Enough to check the Brit bookies. fwiw.
