Chris Christie has made it crystal clear- when asked- if he would ever go 3rd party that "I would not. I am a Republican" and on top of that he has just pledged to support the Republican nominee. In other words, the slut would do it in a micro-second if No Labels offered it to him after the Republican primary places him in the dumpster. No hesitation on his part whatsoever. Like what else does he have to do in life? He would just say "well, since then Donald Trump has been indicted on this and that and continues to be a danger to the country and it is my duty to offer choice. Slut! Doesn't matter anyway. It just hurts Biden. The republicans don't have any interest in him. Yeh sure, he has made New Hampshire his one and only go to state and is probably polling ahead of some others there. Yawn. This GOP presidential candidate has a higher favorability rating among Democrats than voters in his own party Chris Christie is the most favored GOP candidate among Democrat voters, a Fox News poll found https://www.foxnews.com/politics/go...e-higher-favorability-rating-democrats-voters

Christie is just the useful idiot for lefties like Mika and Scarborough who want to see Trump eviscerated somewhere by someone. The article points out that Christie destroyed Rubio but fails to point out that after that Trump reduced Christie to making hostage videos and begging for jobs at the White House. Trump humiliated him mercilessly from which he never recovered. Christie is the one who has the most to lose if Trump does not show up because his entire campaign shtick is that he will debate Trump and destroy him so if Trump does not show up then what for Christie? He is just going to use his answers to the other debaters as a way of dissing Trump? WOMP.....womp...womp. The dilemma that Christie has is that he is the very personification of a loser. He loses if Trump does not show up and he is loses if Trump does show up and- let's just say theoretically- that he totally destroys Trump-cuts his balls off right there. Then what? Taking Trump down does not accrue to the benefit of Christie. No one is thinking "gee, what a big swinging dick Christie is, I will vote for him now." It would accrue to the benefit of Vivek and Tim Scott and Desantis. So Christie is just there as useful idiot. The more he disses Trump, the more he favorability rating amongst democrats increases. All fine and dandy if it were not for that pesky little fact that he is running in the republican primary. Christie's take home from this little charade is that it is chance for him to stay sufficiently relevant to continue to be contributor on ABC and other fourth rate places. Otherwise you have an entire generation who would either be forgetting about him and another generation that never heard of him. Lost to the dustbins of history. Loser. Having said that, Trump nevertheless has risks at the debate. He got into that yelling match with Biden during one debate that clearly hurt him. It was just loud and over the top. Ironically, his debate coach for that debate was Chris Christie who advised him to be an attack dog.
Im not the world’s biggest Chris Christie fan to say the least but I completely disagree with you. Christie is right to 1. Attack the front runner and 2. Isolate him. It is after all a primary election and you have to take out the guy in first place if you want to win. It is the only strategy that will beat Trump in a primary. The main issue is the bulk of the field competing against Trump actually support Trump, and are unwilling to hold him accountable and use his 4 indictments against him. Everyday Ramaswamy, Pence and DeSantis make Trump out to be a martyr instead of the conman he is, which also happens to be the truth.
"if you want to win" are the operative words in your comment. However, Christie will not pick up in the polls by any significant amount even if he successfully takes Trump apart (I am sayin significant, he might get some from people who have never seen him before and like the blood sport, but no amount that matters.) And you are correct and Christie is correct that he would need to get past Trump. Except he is not the "you" who is goiing to win. His attack routine may turn some people away from Trump but- just as I said- they will go to the other second or third place candidates. Not to Christie. He is just a vote getter for them. Thus, I stand by my statement that he is just a useful idiot for others, and probably will keep his position as some kind of low-level TV commentator. You got your New Jersey tee shirt on for your boy, and that's fine. Everyone hates Christie though. Except the dems, as long as he is useful as an idiot. What was his favorability rating in New Jersey in his last year before he left? Nevermind. You don't need to step in that hole. It is fairly common for governors to run for president even though they have not national following but because they are popular in their state. Not a trick Christie should try. He is hated nationally and at home. Chris Christie after the last time Trump left him in a coma doing hostage videos.
Christie left with like a 16% favorability rating when he finally left. But I don’t count him out as much as you do. A few favorable turns and he could be your front runner. I get it but I am sticking to my guns here taking Trump down is the only way.
