  1. Nikki Haley, once Trump's UN ambassador, to take him on in 2024

WASHINGTON, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will launch her candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination on Feb. 15, squaring off against her one-time boss, former President Donald Trump, according to a source familiar with her plans.

If you’re looking for a Republican to win in 2024, you should be hoping for as few entrants as possible. Trump’s base support is real and probably ~40% of the Republican primary voters are sticky for him.

If there are enough second tier candidates grabbing 3-4% of the vote he will cakewalk to the nomination.

Nicki Haley can grab some votes, Pompeo too. We know DeSantis is the preferred candidate of the right wing media. Throw in Larry Hogan, Asa Hutchinson and couple of senators and presto- Trump is the nominee. And of the bunch Trump is the biggest loser.

  3. The republicans should work toward putting up a good field of candidates. Including women, minorities, different ages, different backgrounds, etc. And then work it out on the playground.

If DeSantis cannot work his way through that, then so be it. His popularity and Trumps are subject to change over time- for better or worse. That's how campaigning works.

Larry Hogan thinks if he gets in the race Trump will not be the nominee when the opposite is true…

For the record Hogan isn’t the worst person in the world.

What I would like to see is Ron DeSantis and Donald
The debates should show who of Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump is the better candidate. When questions of policies are raised in a debate, that is where you separate the men from the boys. A lot of them would fail. President Donald Trump established a high bar because of his very good policies on securing the US border, cutting taxes on US companies, cutting taxes for most Americans, foreign policy, making the US number one in oil production, defeated ISIS and eliminated Soleimani, trade policy with a focus on trade with China and Europe among his numerous accomplishments. Of course, senile, old Joe Biden rolled back all those good policies.

  7. Putin did not take any part of Ukraine while Trump was in power.

Putin took part of Ukraine ie. Crimea under Obama.

    Putin is currently invading Ukraine.

Donald Trump has been the peacekeeper.

That is another huge plus. Peace thru strength. They feared President Donald Trump after they saw how the campaign to crush ISIS and the elimination of Soleimani put the fear in the hearts of US enemies. Our feckless allies hated President Donald Trump because he exposed them as weak soyboys, Boris Johnson, Emmanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau that they were. Even now, the soyboys giving each other pats on the backs including, Joe Biden. All weak leaders, all cowards sending the Ukrainians to their needless deaths and all warmongers. Anything for a buck. Even Vladimir Putin respected President Donald Trump because he was an alpha male like him and saw him a a great leader.

  9. Trump refuses to say he'll support GOP's 2024 nominee if it's not him
Former President Donald Trump is once again refusing to commit to supporting the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee should he not win the nomination himself.
