Why should we help them out? If they're elderly then that means they had a chance to live their life and make a shit load of money. They didn't. Therefore, they failed, so now they should suffer. I don't give a crap about poor old people, especially wen they're using my darned oxygen!
An interesting thread. Since, we all know that oil, coal etc. prices are going up. How can we stop their rise by blaming anyone or suggesting ways to stop it? How about trying to look into other natural renewable sources like the water, wind, solar? They are also non-polluting. What do you say?
Old people don't eat catfood. It's to expensive. I know because I have four cats of my own. peanut butter and jelly is cheap. old people should just eat generic brand peanut butter, cheap jelly, and bread from the bakery outlet. I feel bad for some old people if they are cold and hungry but they should have thought about that when they were younger and saved and invested. If I am broke when I am old there will be no one else to blame besides myself and my poor financial decisions. I think that if someone has a family member or friend or neighbor that is old and in need of help that the right thing to do is offer any help that you can. But the notion that the government or society should be responsible for someone who has to make a choice between eating and keeping warm is based on the false notion that people have this inherent right or claim on goods or services that they did not earn or produce. And cat food is not that bad anyway. I bet there are a few million starving african kids who would be more than happy to eat catfood.
Good post, Tradersystem, maybe we need to do that. How about changing our food habits to renewable sources like eating fruits and vegetable raw? No gas or cooking, so no pollution.
Watch out for the stuff that comes from China. Especially the Cutlets and Gravy. Man oh man....good ol' Cutlets n Gravy...they sure are tasty...but deadly...truly the forbidden fruit.
