1 Bitcoin is worth whatever you can buy from it at the present moment. The more the US dollar becomes obsolete the more Bitcoin will stablize to whatever value it truly is. Which is way more than it is now since there are only 20 million of them circulating. Think about it, if FIAT was obsolete and there are 20 million Bitcoin to 8 billion people, the value would skyrocket from what it is now. Instead of being able to buy a Tesla with 1 Bitcoin you would be able to start a Tesla dealership.

Think about it, the whole world becomes one big Kazakhstan: no internet, no electricity. Think about it. No electricity - no water, but you are awash with BTC.

In the US the 2 dollar bill is rare but you can buy 2 bucks worth of shit with it.
Rarity is the basis of the greater fool theory. You have to find someone willing to buy or accept your coin for it to have any value. At least with a tulip bulb I could grow a tulip. :)

Kazakhstan is a complete breakdown of a functioning society. No internet means no banking and other financial commerce

Forget learning to milk a cow, it's probably going to get stolen soon

Hmmm, let me see, I'll go with crypto since it has more senseable value than a depreciating dollar. Thanks for asking.

Do you really think with the knowlege that we have today we will one day be stuck without electricity? I guess you think everyone in the Earth is stupid don't you? We are some poor helpless defenseless society that doesn't know how to turn the power back on after it has been shut off. We are a bunch of pathetic morons that are destined to die. Reading your post just makes me want to cry...

I'm not so sure. After seeing protests turn into riots and how helpless authorities are against large crowds it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Is a cyber attack that shuts down the power grid for a couple days, followed by riots and looting, really that much of a stretch?

Well if all that is going on then what does any kind of money mean to you? You should be more worried about guns and ammo at that point than money, or are you going to try to haggle everyone with your tulips?

That's the thing. You have to have something of value to haggle with. I might be able to trade my tulips for something, not so much a digital non fungible token.
