k p, ask yourself why, with your incredible knowledge of how to extract money from the markets daily, you're unable to do it and keep searching for certainty and security to back your trading decisions. Also, anyone who would trade two contracts of crude oil with a $10K account is a gambler, IMHO. I have no idea how much money this woman had to trade with. I do know she was struggling and posted about it here on ET. Her struggles were probably mindset-related more than strategy-related. TST gave her the chance to work on her mindset (focusing on execution instead of outcome with a little bit of skin in the game) for a fraction of the cost of trading one's own account poorly. A struggling trader who doesn't use something like TST or a tiny Forex account to develop proper mindset/execution of plan, is in my opinion, flushing their money down the toilet.
There's a good journal on this site with lots of comments and charts posted. http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index...w-e-mini-journal.198814/page-165#post-3574679
Take a look at this one too: http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/neveral0nes-es-cl-6e-journal.210559/
I apologize for my earlier off-topic post. I got distracted and forgot that this was a journal. You seem to be doing an excellent job thus far. Keep it up!
I'm with you here ND... I really, really am. There are so many bits and pieces that have to fit together, and although I've managed to scratch the surface of some, if they aren't all in place, the whole thing falls apart. A good trader absolutely needs a bit of knowledge... but not too much. He needs a bit of conviction, but not be married to it. He has to care enough to always do the right thing, but not care so much as to be bummed out about a negative result. This game is just such a fine balance of every quality that must be in perfect sync and in just the right proportion. I think I've touched upon all of them, but never in the right combination. Anyway, not wanting to muddy this fine journal here with my problems, I just want to end with saying that I'm taking it all in, and your advice is not lost on me... it just took a while to penetrate.
NQ one trade +5.5 I also demo traded the Dax today and started off well and was up nearly 30 points, and then had 3 losers in a row and gave it all back. Here's the NQ trade. No more trades today. Just gonna read some more educational threads for ideas.
Most of the trades i've mentioned in this thread have been posted in real time. I certainly hope any regular readers can confirm that otherwise I really have been wasting my time! Although like i said yesterday, there doesn't seem much point in doing that any longer a few examples:
