fair enough. a little dumb fuckery is fine and fun but wanted to hear an actual argument from the Left's perspective. if you dont support men breaking womens skullz in front of crowds of raving spectators thats fine too. dude its okay to think, and change your mind. some of my ideas are left some are right most might be wrong but theyre MY IDEAS and I can actually express the reasoning behind them. but just the constant infantile bullshit gets too annoying when actually trying to discuss ideas. Left always replies: insults, bullshit, "my feelz" EVERY FUCKING TIME?
You accepted weight classes, and the agents' role in setting up fair fights, not to mention the role of the referee in stopping fights early (and they do when necessary). This is a non-issue.
Nope, just bored to death with all the homo/homosocial shit you guys talk. Every chance you get it will be something relating to sex/deviance and guys touching each other. Talk about man stuff, but not the oh so predictable.
it goes beyond weight classes; muscle, bone density and fiber make up, and people get their head smashed in all the time even w/refs. Not to mention the training edge from testosterone. Having said that:
That's exactly it. If you are a man, I don't care how much you identify as a woman...You are, by biological evolution, stronger than a woman. And can probably beat the shit out of that woman in an Octagon. And if you call yourself a butch, or are named "Butch", well... Same shit.
Ignoring the "biology vs choice" argument to save myself some tired debates (I'm on the side that genetics determine your gender) this is the actual correct answer I think. The reality of it is in fighting weight classes matter more than gender or anything else. A 150 pound man and a 150 pound woman of approximately equal skill would be a fair fight I would think. I do BJJ and I've rolled with several woman. As long as their weight is near yours they are formidable opponents. It's important to remark however that the average woman is not the kind of woman who is immediately capable of fighting the average man. But when speaking of the athletics of fighting, and especially grappling, weight class is really all that matters. The fight shown here however wasn't fair, iirc. EDIT: Addendum - weight class and similar fat/weight ratio. A 150 pound man would be leaner and more muscular than 150 pound woman. But assuming equal training a lot of this really comes down to skill. I've seen brown belt woman tap purple belt men regularly during rolls. I don't know standup game but grappling in equal weight classes is about as neutral as it comes in my experience. It's important to note very few women would make the bar to being able to go toe to toe with a man in the ring. But given the top tier athleticism of fighters in both genders I don't think we are dealing with averages here. EDIT AGAIN: I suppose additionally bone density also factors in. A man can probably put on more weight after weigh in than a woman could even with attenuated testosterone.
in short, I dont believe its a fair fight. to be fair and honest, it does bother me because I believe males & females are biologically different, for example men have a scrotum and women dont. if a man decides to cut off his scrotum, he is now a man living without a scrotum. prior to his deciding to remove his scrotum, this organ produced testosterone for his entire life. testosterone is so important in adding to athletic ability that using synthetic testosterone will result in a ban, from most sports organizations that I am aware of in the US. Including the UFC. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ent-therapy-ufc-was-long-overdue-9166267.html Furthermore, culturally this behavior of a man ruthlessly beating a woman has been ingrained in my soul as not something that is acceptable. Let alone something that should be praised or called "brave". and no where have I ever traveled would it be okay to stand by and witness such let alone "accept", let alone cheer on. https://thepostmillennial.com/biolo...womans-skull-named-bravest-athlete-in-history it also upsets me, its as tho everyone is avoiding calling a spade a spade in order to go with the flow of accepted culture. Although, science has told us men are stronger than woman for ages, and although science through the scientific process evolves. We as a society allowed a man to not only enter the octagon and ruthlessly beat women, we did so without any scientific proof that it was a fair fight. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/02/200205132404.htm Like you said, I feel that I shouldnt have to worry about it as I would assume others would address these things far before I would have to even think about it. But, I am reading about it after the fact. IMHO this is bad, like, really really fucking bad. We have basically given away what we have held honorable for centuries in this country just to appease, sometimes this can be good in this case I see it as pure and utter cowardice. If this was brought to my attention and the facts showed that it was a fair match between two women, I am not sure If I would have an issue. When I heard of male to female transgender athletes in other sports winning competitions by far, it really didnt bother me as much. I do find it is getting just a bit silly... But this has gone far beyond just a bit silly. Basically, we should now be okay with people who were born as men fighting in matches with our daughters, sisters, wives, friends... but we shouldnt even wait for the scientific proof it is a fair match between two females as that would be anti-trans. so in order to not offend transgender people (or not even sure theyd be offended but in order just to not make a fuss) you have sacrificed the safety of your daughters, sisters, wives, friends. WELL FUCKING DONE! How do you account for the advantage of having lived with a scrotum (testosterone) for most of ones life before deciding to fight women? For me IMHO this seems like not an affront, but a literal fucking assault on our culture if not on our very humanity. but I could be wrong?
Wow, great post. Thanks for offering your input. Although, it seems we may kind of agree. You actually offered a great antithetical perspective to mine. I didnt even think about grappling, I am familiar with Greco Roman wrestling and remember hearing about schools having females on their teams. very interesting point indeed. Honestly, I havent studied it enough to give an opinion if its a fair match in BJJ , but I do appreciate your perspective, and will at least take your word for it. reading about these matches I still feel it is very unfairly balanced. with striking and even wrestling raw strength can often beat skill. i provided a link in the above thread, its literally titled "why males pack a powerful punch".
I tend to agree overall if you look at my edits. The fight OP posted is a bad example as it was clear the transgendered person retained a lot of their male ability. Namely fully developed bone structure and other things. Adjacent to my school was a Muay Thai school I would sometimes go watch. It was foreign to me because they often paired by gender. In BJJ we were told to roll with anyone who slapped your hand no matter how tired you are, and no matter who they were. Smaller women were obviously protected from spastic men (and there are plenty) but I have had several rolls with women near my weight and height (most 5'7" ~135-145 lbs) that I've lost (technique trumps strength after you're gassed and they were strictly superior to me in skill), and several more that were close calls where my muscular endurance was marginally better and I won as a result. They fight more technically as a requirement. The first few times you lose to a woman is certainly a humbling experience. One that's probably important for any fighter that takes themselves seriously. I can only speak from grappling. In the octagon I can't really say for sure. The article about punch strength was interesting. I'd imagine that musculature develops differently for men which could explain more power generated from rotation force (the key to a good punch). Admittedly this sometimes occurred in BJJ (takedowns generally require some rotational force) but in ground fighting a takedown can be neutralized simply by pulling guard. For groundfighting I would still err on a "near equal" match given equally capable athletes in the same weight class and would actually be interested in seeing some actual studies being done on such thing because my experience is only a single datapoint.
