Edward O. Thorp on charting

  1. Hmmmm, name one major or really any fund manager who credits the Price Action wizard with their success? I bet that you can not. I can name 7 hyper succesful hedge fund managers who credit VN for their success....and there are 5 or more additional if I did the research--

See that is the difference between dealing in reality and living in fantasy land.....

    PROVE ME WRONG.

Wonderful. Good for them. How is VN doing? He must have had his eyes closed..or his mind?

Remember OLE Jesse? He played PA. HOWEVER samathing. Eyes closed. Broke again. What was it 4 times? So...many have made it trading PA. Many have made it trading fundamentals. Bottom line they all fail when they close their eyes to the truth of the tape. The tape is the ONLY thing THAT IS true! The chart represents the tape. Hence the chart is always true. Fundamentals can be a lie. Or they can be true.

    That's his problem.

As for me low post count, by choice, but here since 2008. And began my trading journey 20 years prior.

I remember that chapter,[ 200 dma] part of it anyway. AND some of his 1980 stuff is still good; do NOT over-trade. FIRST time i read that ==i mistook it for warning against frequent trading. Actually PTJ meant do NOT trade to big/play macho man with the market LOL, like his early BIG cotton trade he never forgot...................................................................................................

But investors aren't buying a manager's historical returns, they're buying future returns.
